New Order Tribute CD To Support Salford Foundation Trust

Salford Foundation Trust, which was set up in 2004, has given financial assistance to over 200 young people who wish to develop their skills and talents in a variety of ways.
Small grants are given to purchase a musical instrument, dance or drama classes, sports equipment or to help young entrepreneurs with their business. A special Tony Wilson Award category was established in memory of the Salford-born broadcaster who spent time with and expressed support for the Trust. This award focuses particularly on the performing arts.

Two Disc Deluxe Package Of New Order Covers Benefits Children's
Charity In Memory of Factory Records Maestro Tony Wilson
DESCRIPTION
Ceremony - A New Order Tribute is dedicated to Tony Wilson, founder of
Factory Records, who died of cancer in 2007, and released February 20th 2010
to celebrate what would have been his 60th Birthday. A portion of the proceeds
from album sales will benefit The Salford Foundation Trust's Tony Wilson Awards,
which were established in his memory. The trust benefits children and young
people who demonstrate a special talent or ambition in the arts or creative skills.
Even after losing Tony, his legacy continues to bring music into people’s lives.
Since Ceremony will benefit talented young people, we’ve included a version of
“Ceremony” on the album performed by children to show an example of those
who have the opportunity of music in their life. The band Yes But No is fronted by
two sisters, ages 10 & 13, who both play guitar and sing.
The beautiful deluxe digipack 32 track album features artists representative of
musical genres from Electronica to Indie Rock who have been influenced by
New Order. Participants from across America and Europe include Peter Hook -
bassist for New Order & Joy Division, Detachments, John Ralston,
Rabbit in the Moon, Sunbears!, The Cloud Room, The Dark Romantics,
Pocket, GD Luxxe, Light Yourself On Fire, Kites With Lights & many more.
RELEASE DATE DETAILS
The CD Version will be available March 9th, 2010 from MVD Distribution.
The Digital Version of the double CD Ceremony - A New Order Tribute & two additional Digital Albums
will be released February 20th, 2010 to comemorate Tony Wilson’s 60th Birthday.
