Nothing changes on New Year's Day

The lack of a bowl or a Zany has resulted in U2 being stuck in me noggin. Reminds me of a time when U2 was pure, before Eno buggered them and a commercial monster emerged. Not that the Unforgetable Fire was a bad album, it just moved them in a direction that turned me off.

Now, I confess, I listen to TUF when camping or touring on bicycle. It is a great chill out album necessary for sleep after a long day of bike riding, beer drinking, photographing women exposing their breasts and LSD. Great to listen to next to the camp fire during the last bowl of the day. Then I drag my bones to the tent and pop in Entreat. A few hours of precious sleep then a new day of wild adventures. God, I miss the last week of July.

strange to think that rem supported them on the unforgettable fire show.

personally i think they went downhill when they got succesful & became less angry, but one is one of my favourites of theirs.
