OK this is a NO site, so taken as read, but wondered who else everyone rates from that period:
Predictable maybe, but my top 5 looks like this (sad as I am, could go on to several hundred from those halcyon days!!):

Hmm, well I don't know about everyone else but I like:

Dexter's Midnight Runners Bobby Picket and the Crypt Kickers Grace Jones Lionel Richie Savage
The Comsat Angels should've been fuckin massive , U2 played support for 'em at Salford uni. I still play India, President Gas and Forever Now by the Furs. I'll dance to Secret Wish by Propoganda and I'm glad Gang of four have a boxset out. I like to fa fa fa -fa fa-fa fa fa to Psycho Killer by the Talkin Heads even though that was earlier on. I do however regret at least two hairstyles and a cavalry shirt. I dont regret ( or apologise for ) a single night I spent in the Hacienda, the Boardwalk, cypress tavern or the Press club. I regret the Fall's Kicker Conspiracy not bein massive. Likewise The Chiefs of Relief And The Worst were the best band at the Festival of the Tenth summer

Oh yeah, The Housemartins never seen 'em live, wish I had. I hated the controllers of the BBC ,and the Musicians Union , for not lettin them sing with their Mums on Top of the pops at Christmas. The Bunnies anywhere, and Ian Macs solo Candleland gig at the Ritz Manchester , priceless. B.A.D's first gig at the international and the Order at Glasto. And realisin me Grandad had a point when I bought the Pogues 'Red Roses for me' and went down to London to seak out some smoke and strong whiskey.
I spent half the 80s following the Bunnymen and The Fall round (when the Order weren't playing). Fine times indeed.

Yeah, not sure what got into me there. Can I replace it with The Cure?
I really liked Duran Duran until that 3rd lp came out and all the chicks were screaming "Simon ravish me!!" NO had not penetrated my safe MidWest home until the summer of 83. Duran2 really went to hell with The Reflex and Wild Boys. But I saw them in September and they were pretty good until they played Wild Boys. Read reviews of their recent tour and almost all say that Duran2 and most say that they redeemed themselves except they continue to play Wild Boys.
Get the Costa Mesa mp3s, only 6 tracks but quite good fro them.

anybody been watching 'bands reunited' on VH1? i caught the one on berlin on martin luther king day. they all have such flat hair now...but it was kind of fun seeing this guy traversing the country looking for the former bandmates, then seeing them playing 'the metro' live again.

Watched the Berlin and Romeo Void ones. Only saw about 10 min. of the Flock of Seagulls one. Good stories about the bands, but why is there only 1 full song performance included in the shows?

The Housemartins were a different band live, very raw, plenty of feedback. A top crack live.
A mate went to see Beautiful South in M/Cr said they did an S Club 7 tune, s'pose you had to be there relly
Well I feel parly to blame, I took him to see Einsturzende Neubaten at the Hacienda, in the mid eighties. He pretty much leads a quiet life these days.

His dead, isn't he? Not sure of the details but it was related to his diabetes.
They reformed for a small US tour a few years back, maybe five years or so? Just think is was Lwin and the bass player (Lee something?) as Barbarossa was working with a different band.

Kajagoogoo weren't freaky though, were they?
Bunch of poseurs, perhaps, with a dodgy line in hair bleach and plus-fours but they weren't as freaky as, say, the Cure or something at that time.
Limahhl was from Wigan, so he'd have been freaky to Wigan pensioners,but thats about it. Now Genesis P Orridge on the other hand ....

After watching ... Celebrity last night with Lydon, I had a brief idea for a spin-off where all the contestants were punk survivors. I thought of Genesis P, and possibly Jimmy pursey as likely candidates for that one.
