I just got a check from that CD pricing antitrust case! Anyone else yet?

Anyone else get a check from the CD Minimum Advertised Price Antitrust Litigation? My wife and I both got one today in the mail!

In a letter signed by Eliot Spitzer, Attorney General of NY State, it says that this is my portion of the settlement from that www.MusicCDSettlement.com thing that seemed too good to be true. I thought it was going to be one of those settlements or class action suits where you get a coupon for your next purchase of popcorn or something.

Strangely, the check is for just about the price of a new CD -- $13.86. Doesn't matter. I'll cash the check! What a nice surprise to come home to!

Granted, my spending on CDs dwarfed my wifes by a ratio of like 500:1, but that's ok. I seriously never expected to see anything from this.

Is that the thing that had a website up which looked EXACTLY like some dodgy identity-fraud personal info fishing expedition? I bet most people were scared off signing up cos it looked so much like a con trick (which perhaps was the intention?)

It really irks that only americans qualified for this, given that UK cd prices were considerably more of a rip off than the proven-to-be-a-rip-off US ones!

Gonna save the $13 for new order's next effort?

I got mine, scanned it and now misplaced it.
