went over to the darkside to see what the pain in the arse from recife was up to,the thread i looked at had quite a few nasty remarks about our beloved site. some of the comments are quite funny, especially one geezer who says that all us noolers are not nice!!!! its worth a look. p.s to the webmaster, one of the threads is aimed directly at you,i should take a look and sue the mother f***ers!:nono:

Hey, there are threads about the webmaster of the "dark side" as you call him on here as well...

Although nobody sent me a link about that! What the hell have I done ?!?!

P/S: BTW, did anyone noticed that my name is now "Bob L" ??? Incredible, you find information and it's credited to probably somebody who doesn't even exist (and it's credited to Tracey Spivey here fortunatly)

Er, banned him for starters, Nicos?! :eek3:

Seems most of the comments there are two years old, mind.

Still funny to see that Tim & Julio started their fight in 2002....

What's wrong with being a lawyer???????

BTW did not know Sebastien was a lawyer I thought he was into computers as well.

But I am happy I visited worldinmtion.net, I hadn't for ages, I know now the whole story behind the Tim-Julio wrestling match. Julio sent me some time ago an email accusing me of having made an unsavoury comment on him (I hadn't, of course, I simply did not know what he was talking about and since he never bothered to explain himself I never knew what was the story, now I do)

BTW like most people here I've got the utmost respect for worldinmotion.net, I wish there were not a handful of New Order devoted webs but dozens of them. I do not understand these periodic bouts of aggro between sites and neither the resentment transpired by some of the posts written over there.

Of course NOOL would still be the best

I can't stand the exitement over on the darkside NOT, so have to relax over here.

Not true.

David Sultan does a good job, except:

a) he doesn't do this for a job as I do b) he started forums just to compete this one, but doesn't post as much as I do (I just passed 7000 for crying out loud!)

Hence, the forum activity was generated at first by Sebastien, then when he started working, I took over, most people remember I wasn't posting THAT much before...

Plus, the forum system is done by me, I can adapt it to the way everybody wants, which is not the case for a forum system you pay as a service.. like it or not, I can make this evolve the way I want, which is not the case with others...

So it's technically different, there were other forums over there, we're not the only one, but I guess we filled a need people had from the start, and this is why the forum is so popular..

To be honest, we had a forum before this version of it, and it was never as popular.. think about it, we get 250 messages PER DAY, that is probably what most New Order related sites get in a month!

But anyways, you can't compete too much, as it's not meant to be the same, NewOrderOnline is my "work-in-progress", my school if you want, I learn for my job when working for it, and my biggest success story, so it's very high ranked on my resume... so I work on it a lot, too much probably (and this Community thing sure doesn't help  )

*Really? Interesting... a thing I like of the other forum is how you can subscribe to a thread even if you haven't started it. Could you do the same here? Would really appreciate, thanks. And of course my dream would be to have the messages of this forum as a mailing list, downloading the messages on my client in chronological order (saving the time to scroll the pages for the new ones) and having more time to deal with them... or at least as a Usenet newsgroup... and still have the web version to check with all the fancy graphics and smilies... I don't know if it would be possible, if it is, it would be revolutionary, a total community forum AND mail... but if it isn't, I'd be already happy to be able to subscribe to any thread, that would be closer to an integration with the E Mail...

well i popped into the OTHER SIDE? a few days ago for the first time due to a link in these forums (cant remember which) and noticed the woefull comments about this site. tbh i didnt think it was even worth commenting upon,im a new order fan and thats it,and i wholly appreciate the effort and time that people put into sites like this for the benefit of all new order fans. the pointless slagging off that was going on in that forum was unjustified imo. im hardly a prolific poster in here i know, but ive found most of the peeps on this site knowledgeable and helpfull even to thick twats like me. im not redg on the other site so i couldnt comment on what or how things are over there, but none the less this is a cracking site for any new order fan. keep up the good work :thumb::thumb::thumb:

who gives a flying fook what the other site says about us?!?!

I would have a look...but I'm too dang lazy...

and yes...I remember when Nicos never seemed to post...Sebsy would get all the credit, and Nic would chime in with "hey...I'm here too you know...."

ahhh....life was so simple back then!!!:D

Leaving Seb alone here would have meant nobody else to post but him :D

And what about the FAC number ? It is only a symbol, as discussed here before, but a great symbol for us who use to listen to NO and JD a little bit more than normal people...:laugh:

I'll offer him a trade : one box with twelve bottles of cachaça, Brazilian spirit with 42% alcohol content and he give me a piece of paper with our FAC number  I'll ask for Emok's help in this issue, he is a specialist in trades...:D

I enquired about buying Technique DAT from him , $90 !!! Yellow Fac 53 $30....steep. Then again everyone over values their collection, due to the eBay factor. ie all the newbie collectors paying over the odds.

If it's the flour-like thing people snif while having a cachaça, it has an other name.

Moito obrigado Mauricio. Just joking, I can get it here even at the Carrefour. Very much unknown and such a good drink.

Humberto,

Try one of the following brands : Ypioca, Pitu or 51. Do you know how to make Caipirinha ? I can send you the receipt !

In Portugal and in Germany Caipirinha is very famous....very soon it will be in Spain too . My cousins in Portugal are paying 4,5 euros in one caipirinha

There were quite a few of us at this one.....Dave Molly's first gig I think, I know of at least 6 NOOL regulars who found the answer to their prayers at the Ace that night.
