Thanks for finding that again, found it earlier this year, but forgot to bookmark it. One of my very fave moments on TV ever, at the time American Bandstand did have a few new wave-ish acts on back then (The Jam, Boomtown Rats, and The Fleshtones are some of what I recall seeing) but I gotta admit I was totally perplexed when it was announced in the TV Guide that Public Image, Ltd. would be on AB, mostly cause it didn't follow the audience's perception of music "with a good beat, we can dance to it"; I mean, a song about rape on America's prime music show? . Love the audience for getting into it though. :)
