Desperately needed to cheer myself up after a dreadful past couple of weeks, so singing Let's Have A Patrick Swayze Christmas by Crow T. Robot, with Tom Servo and Joel Robinson backing him up, helped quite a bit today.

Driving round the countryside today, turned on the radio and heard a couple of things that I hadn't heard in a while. First, on an oldies station, was Duke Of Earl by Gene Chandler, then I flipped the dial to a modern rock station, and heard a lovely vocal going "Dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.......doo doo doo" over a thumping bassline. Wynonna's Big Brown Beaver by Primus of course, just glad I didn't hear that daisy song by Ween.

I think those are probably all the words. Takes me back to running laps in high school gym class whilst being forced to listen to Jock Jams *shudder* EVERY FOOKING DAY blasting over the speakers of the cavernous, echoing gym. :barf:

Indeed, Show is an excellent concert, but seeing the Show video, with all of the songs, is even better.

I've started running recently to get more fit. While running the past couple of days, I keep hearing Morrissey's "America is not the World." Over and over and over.

"In America, It brought you the hamburger. Well America, you know where you can shove your hamburger. And don't you wonder, Why in Estonia they say, Hey you, Big fat pig, you fat pig, You fat pig"

Can't imagine why I keep hearing it.

Yesterday I had WIM in my head, but I did buy the single for a friend who turned 21 yesterday and claimed WIM was her favorite NO song  But, today, it was the Smith's "I know it's over," playing over and over in my head during work. But, last week at work, I did play that album, the Queen is Dead over the speakers, and later the Cure's Disintegration, and not one customer complained. This Thursday, I'll probably play Substance... or a bit of PSB.

Still Morrissey's "I Like You."

His new CD is probably his best ever. I don't know how he does it, but he seems to have gotten even better with age. He's hitting notes most young singers can't hit.
