We bought a JVC home theatre system some years ago, cost us EUR850 and because it was one of the first on the market it didn't play any copies, only originals. I have more or less regretted this over the years, but it's been a great system so I've accepted having to play copies on the pc. However, it went on the blink a few weeks ago, and because it was still under warranty it was repaired free of charge. A new laser unit was fitted and guess what, it now plays dvd-r AND dvd+r copies as well !! A small error on their part

I am so happy :jump:

I just bought myself a brand new Sony DVD player just to be able to play those, even if my old one still works.... but now I can play my own DVDs, which I wasn't able.

And I won't get rid of the old one, my Apex is pure gold as I can disable macrovision and regional zones in the hidden menu ;)

Ah technology...
