I recently purchased a E-mu Proteus 2 and am trying to get it to work correctly. I have it hooked up to the computer and everything fine but when I output a midi to it it only plays the Channel 1 part and won't play the other channels i have programmed in the midi. The only way I can get it too play all the different instruments is to put them all on the same channel which means I have to use the same instrument for all the parts. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks Alex

Alex, make sure the module is set for multitimbral operation and not just to receive on a single channel. It's probably tucked away in a global menu or master MIDI menu somewhere. I think you also have to make sure all the channels are enable on some of the older proteus modules. Hope this helps, but your best bet is to search out a manual. Best of luck.

Thanks a lot! I found the multitimbral option and now all the channels are playing. The only problem I have now is that I have a seperate drum machine that I want to have start playing at the same time as I start the MIDI but I can't get it to play when I play the MIDI. Does anyone know how to do this?

Sorry about all these questions I've never used much MIDI stuff before.

Thanks Alex
