The thread about support bands got me thinking... There have been some real stinkers released over the years, and with christmas coming we're in for another pile of steaming "quality" merchandise. Waddaya think guys and gals?

Ya ya YEAA COCO JUMBO Ya ya YEEAAHHH...(repeat)![]()
As a proud collector of the Euro Cheese most people are nominating, I'd have to nomitate "Tipsy" by J-Kwon as the more moronically annoying song of all time
Just hope the US authorities get the bastard for underage drinking...

I know, I did it once while very VERY drunk at an engineering faculty party...
"Barbie Girl" is close, but I'd have to nominate The Archies' "Sugar Sugar". After all, that's almost the pioneer of the genre.

Only once?
I've never done the dance fully myself, but I've played the track a few times when DJ'ing and encouraged the floor to do it...
I only ever DJ over the summer, I think it shows in my choice of music - cheesy, generally European dance.

I'm surprised kids still dance to it. When I was in middle school, everyone at a school dance did the moves. At least it's not as bad as the lambada.
Old time, Honey by Bobby Goldsboro, no question about that. That song by Ja Blows, errrr Rules, with the female singing "I love the way that you look at me baby" makes me cringe. Ashlee Simpson's first single as well. Another strong contender is the theme song from Titanic.

I'll be in Las Vegas next year - I've a good mind to chuck rotting seaweed at her if she's still performing there....
Even though "Hanky Panky", "Barbie Girl" and those Jive Bunny mixes are hard to swallow, I'd say The Beatles' "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" always make my stomach hurt.
Remembered today that awful trio of J-Ho songs: the one where her love don't cost a thing (yeah, right
), the one where she's still Jenny from da block
, and the one where she begs the DJ to play her record (hint: get on your knees first).
right now i'm really pissed off at ashlee simpson's 'pieces of me,' although the all-time most-annoying award would probably go to the entire back catalogue of the vengaboys. or maybe the teletubbies song.
by the way, i own the 'barbie girl' CD single. with the CD-ROM of the video. :)

I agree with you about both. Every time that Ashlee Simpson song came on in the summer, I found myself cringing. As far as the Teletubbies go, my sister used to watch that show twice a day a few years ago, and their song drove me insane, for it meant I'd have to listen to their inanities for yet another half hour.
OH SUPERMAN by laurie anderson. the biggest pile of shite ever dedicated plastic in any form. close runners up are the smiths with practically their entire back catalouge.
Barbie Girl, definitely. If I'm out somewhere and it comes on, it's all I can do not to go find the stereo and break it.
Boys Will Be Boys - The Ordinary Boys
Any Michael Jackson.
Nine Million Bicycles - Katie Melua.

"babababababy you ain't seen nnnnnnnuthin yet"
I hate that tune! It makes my skin crawl. :angry2:
Bob The Builder, mainly because having 2 small nephews, I get the pleasure of listening to it so fucking much... Any track which involves sampling a 'classic' in full and then just having some joker 'rapping' over the top pisses me off as well - Kanye West being the latest culprit... But have to say listening to the Community submission at the moment - there is some fantastic stuff out there that deserves to be listened to much more than it ever will be...

My vote goes to "Born In The USA" by Bruce Springsteen. Was sitting in the pub yesterday and realized how shit it is. It's the same line over and over and over and over, whilst some guy bangs a simple drum beat. It's basically the whole song minus a few faint guitar chords and a little bit of synths at the end.

it may not be the greatest song, but it has a profound message that frat boys and republicans all over america completely missed--and still do.
ronald reagan used it in his 1984 re-election campaign...until someone told him what it was about.![]()
