I've been meaning to start this one for ages, but I always forget.  Now it looks like I'm copying.  Which I am, really.  Anyway...

Cheers everyone!

Pope, how the devil are you?

I'm doing fine, apart from having to get up extra early this morning for a dentist appointment! Oh well, tonight I'm driving south to visit a rather lovely friend and get my drink on. We plan on getting rather blasted, hanging around in the neighborhood cemetery like the closet goths that we probably are, then going back and turning her apartment into a blanket fort so we can roll around on the floor and play with her cats. Oh, and I'll be broadcasting my radio show on Retroforward Radio from her place tomorrow afternoon. A good time should be had by all....i hope.

watched an episode of Family Guy last night where the dad kidnaps the Pope. An announcer's standing there as he gets off the plane and says, "And now...His Holiness, The Pope!" I laughed so hard.

I would have laughed too.

I laugh every time I hear the word Pope at the moment, which gets me into all sorts of trouble, given the other Pope's state of health.

Even more trouble when I say "no, the other Pope.  He gave me chicken wings and porn..."

Enjoy your drink, mate.  I have to retire soon.

Yep, those fizzy selenium + zink pills that you put in water and wait until the water is coloured. They smell like hospital or a dentist.

For the maximum bang for the buck (literally, the 24 oz cans are only 99 cents at the local store), it's gonna be  a couple of Steel Reserve 211s malt liquours tonight. Certainly not the greatest thing I've ever had in my life, but it works out well when one wants to get hammered fairly quickly at a cheap price.

Miller Lite or Genuine Draft in 16 oz bottles.  Drink three of em and it's like 4 beers:dead:  Plus the plastic bottles are safe to take anywhere and the lids screw back on.

IceHouse 5.5% alc/vol  btw

They are funny looking bottles...but useful. And yes, Icehouse with the extra 0.5% alc. content over the "usual" 5% (or 4% for the really cheap crap).

Drank some sort of californian cheapo red wine tonight. my mom got blitzed on the stuff....first time i've seen her really drunk before. It was pretty funny at first, but then I just felt sad about it later on.

Almost all of the name brands do, can't disagree there.  :spit:

There are some locally brewed beers here that definitely don't, so that's what I  enjoy most of the time.

Yes Virginia, major brand US beers are a bit "light" on flavor.  This is done to encourage women to drink.  Bud Light non comes with birth control!:thumb:

Currently enjoying a few cold bottles of Heineken. Easy enough on the taste buds, and serving its purpose nicely.

Heineken in bottles sucks.  Heineken in cans is much better.  I think this is because of the Nazis.  After burning Rotterdam and taking over the Netherlands, Albert Speer put the Heineken brewery on full war time production and stored the product underground.  Bottles are actually war surplus beer thus explaining the skunky flat taste.  In the late 90s Heineken shareholders realized that the bottle supply would soon run out so they dusted off the vats and put the new fresh beer in cans., first Tallboys then the Kegcan.

Don't believe me?  Try Heineken in a can.
