And to be honest, I have doubts they are sane, so we'll see.
I'll explain myself, for the last, hum, 12 years, we had a casino in Montreal, property of the province of course, it's in the middle of what is the F1 track (and was the canadian house for the '67 universal exposition)
Loto-Quebec, the casino owner and government entity, wants to move it in downtown Montreal to build a real complex, but you could have sworn the current gouvernment didn't want it there, because there is a poor neighbourhood nearby.
You see, the current casino is only 2 miles away, but on another island, so it's more complicated to go there...
But those guys aren't stupid, what they proposed for the new casino yesterday is so awesome for the city that the gouvernment would be very stupid to refuse that!
To make a long story short, the whole concept of the casino will be designed by Le Cirque Du Soleil, they have also an agreement with Clear Channel to build a 2500 places venue, and permanent installations for le cirque where they would play, but the Montreal market is too small for a permanent show, but we're talking about a 1.2 billion dollar complex...
Seriously, this would make it a superb tourist attraction, and with the creativity of Le Cirque, one of Quebec's most creative entreprise, I don't see how it can't be awesome.
If you have Acrobat Reader, check this to see how it would look like..

Sure we're not Vegas, but I doubt our city can pass on that... just because they fear the local population would go crazy on gambling...![]()
