I think it's gonna be around 30 C today and I thank God for that! (I can almost hear Biggy saying: Stop using His name in vain, you stupid cow!) LOL! The weather's been quite shitty for the last couple of weeks but I guess it's ok now.

But last week, we had over 30C here in Stockholm. I was melting away......
sunny yes but friggin cold. From -4 to 12 today. Yesterday was like 9 Degrees. Before that it was cold windy and wet. I'm getting sick of this winter crap. I can see snow on the mountains. eek.

It was plenty warm today, I can tell you that much, a bit cooler in Seattle than it is down here. Very very sunny day, a perfect example of why I still like living here.

Down here in Northern California we like our weather the way we like our women- Foggy, low pressure, and mildly moist.
sunny during the day, rain in the afternoon/evening nearly every day - occasional hurricane concerns. hurricane emily has swung wide left of us and made landfall as a cat 4 storm in mexico this a.m.; her predecessor, dennis, decided to get a bit of northwest florida, 4 hrs west of where i live, and carry on from there.
37 C at 13:00pm today. The thing is that i can see the sea from my office window but i can't go there :dead:

We've been having tropical weather lately here. We always get the leftovers of the hurricanes. Its been about 90 degress but the humidity has been crazy. The only way to describe the air is soupy.Thuderstorms everyday for the past week. Which are always nice in the summer. But its so hard to work in this weather.

my meteo ticker says 29oC degrees right now.. it's not sunny, and that's been a while except last sunday
28-30-26-26-25-27 is what's planned tor the next 6 days.
Problem is, 70% humidity, so they say that it FEELS like 40oC right now...
I can tell you, I've never seen such a hot summer.. usually we get 2 weeks TOP of 33+ temperature... but it's been like that since the beginning of june.
I haven't been able to sleep good for the last 2 nights... too hot, and I sold my air conditionning last year, damn it!

That's the worst thing about New York-- soupy air. It so sucks. It's the one thing that REALLY prevents me from moving there. I was there last August, and I got caught in a MASSIVE downpour when I took the train from Brooklyn to Manhattan-- the "remnants" of one of the hurricanes.

The weather here today is perfect for me-- close to 70 F, not too hot, not too cold, no humidity. I asked my ecology profesor once where I could go to get weather like that every day. He said Kenya. I objected on account of the dictatorship there, so he changed his suggestion to Tanzania. Interesting suggestions those, considering the science on the origins of man.
I wonder if one day the americans will finally moved on with their colonial past and adopt the metric system? 
We have, but because of you guys, we have 381 ml bottles.. that's not too round, is it? 
It's a problem, because we have NO idea how heavy or how light something is, how big or how small, how hot or how cold, or how fast or how slow, when it's expressed in metrics. No idea.
When Italy converted from Lire to Euros, there was rampant price gouging, because shops raised their prices and consumers couldn't tell what the prices in Euros meant.
Converting to metric here would mean Americans would be even more confused than they are now; is that REALLY what the rest of the world wants? ;)

Actually, if you want to get confused.. come here... we still say pounds and foot/inches for our sizes.. even though all our official papers are in metric...
And 40 Oz of Vodka is what is is, not 1.78L!
And we still have 8.5x11 paper, not A4...
So we're still in the middle in some domains.. but I still find it funny when I go to the states, because I lock myself with a KM/H speed, and it seems my pace is never the same as the others

Here they just changed the DM with the € - the numbers stayed (which means every price was doubled since the Euro came)...

It's been sunny for most of the day round my way. Don't know exactly what temp it is but it's pleasant enough.
well in good ol lancashire today (chorley) its been quite warm when the sun has popped out ,but then it goes behind the clouds now n again and it goes quite chilly especially with that eastern breeze. so you put on your cardigan, then of course it starts to rain but only for a few minutes and then the sun comes out so your hot quite quickly so you take your cardigan off and its ok for a while then that wind picks up and brrrr you think about putting it back on but then the sun comes out and your stuffy again so you think no ill put the cardy over my chair but then someone opens a window and that cool breeze rushes in and you put the cardigan back on as its quite a chill. but then the sun comes out and warms the place up again and you have to take it off as its quite unbearable. then its time to go outside so you put on your cardy expecting it to be unpredictable outside but no its warm?,so you take it off and stroll to the deli,but it starts raining so you use your cardy as an umbrella (over your head) running to the shop. once in the shop you order your food and fuck off quick as you dont want to be caught in another downpour. leaving the shop its warmed up again so you take the cardy off,the sun goes in again and it rapidly gets cool but by this time you couldnt give an arse as your already damp/warm/cold and confused. arriving back at the office the windows have been closed cos its been raining so its warmed up again and as you enter someone opens them up cos its getting stuffy,but then the sun fucks off and its cool again,and one of the minions asks to lend yer cardy as she is cold. finally you head home and throw the cardy over a chair upon arrival. "whos perfume is THAT" asks the missus. "look just fuck off" is my reply its been a summers day in lancashire is my reply.

105F with the heat index. plus, it's muggy. whenever i talk to people on the phone they always tell me to go for a walk; i'd rather live to see my 31st birthday, to be honest.
it was 114F in las vegas yesterday, but at least it's dry heat there. of course, i wasn't praising the desert heat when i was in the 130F+ heat on the giza plateau in 2001.
anyone fancy meeting up in reykjavik for a few days?
