Right, lets go from worst down: 6ix (popstars band, saw at an event I was at as mid-event "entertainment") Busted (won tickets to this, Girlfriend of the time made me go with her) Slipknot (ticket freebie) Limp Bizkit (ditto)

There was a CD someone bought for a bargain somewhere. (Strange I know a lot of people who buy those cheap CDs just because of the nice covers ). This was one of such. I think the band was called Romeos (it's none of those mentioned at allmusic, I don't know if they were german or english...). Well, this CD began to circle at work. The buyer gave it away and everybody who had heard it handed it on to someone else. When it was my turn I was warned... I didn't take it, but I heard it and it was really really bad...

mmm: I get a lot of freebie music to listen to (legally!) and most of it is very disappointing, but then again what do you expect? there's a gem every now and again that makes it worthwhile. Currently I hate Kasabian, The Killers (preposterous 'him' being introduced as a very special guest star live recently) - actually, come to think of it I hate the Scissor Sisters, too. Then there's there's the Kaiser Chiefs, and all the Coldplay wannabes, and Coldplay, oh, and the Raveonettes, and James Blunt (OK he's not a band, but he should be!). In case this seems too negative, Interpol are sublime, and Doves just get better, and checkout the Pernice Bros, somewhere b/t the Everley Brothers, Aztec Camera, and New Order. Oh yes and Colder is excellent, too, I can see why NO would be interested in his services.

1. whiny 'modern punk' sum charlotte 182. the songs have the exact same tune, the lead singers' voices are interchangeable, and they all look like carbon copies of one another. and what the hell are they an alternative to? well...

2. lil' jon and those rappers who scream in a growly way and say 'yes y'all' and 'c'mon y'all' 50 times in their songs. not to mention when i was a kid having gold or silver teeth meant that you were too poor to get real-looking ones. now it's a fashion statement? just as bad as 'versace goes grunge' from the early '90s.

i like coldplay and snow patrol. ;)

dashboard confessionals. This lame ass singer basically cries all over the tracks. Oasis. Not an inch of originality.

Now i think Chris Martin comes across as a lovely bloke but christ, listening to that's like waiting to die :dead: The very worst band i've ever seen was the Dammned in 1987,Total and absolute Bollock's.I should have stayed at home playing with my pleasure zone :D

I've heard far, far, far, far worse bands than the latter three of the 4 I listed as having seen. I've seen those 4 live...

Poco is pretty abysmal. As is Kansas. Save for "More than a Feeling," Boston is one of the worst bands of all-time, as well. But crap like Korn and Limp Bizkit really take the cake. At least bad classic rock bands have a sort of kitsch value to them. Rap metal bands (or whatever you want to call them) are just god-awful, though. I liken the bad classic rock bands to a movie like SORORITY HOUSE MASSACRE - awful but rather likeable - and the latter bands to something like FORCES OF NATURE, which is just absolutely awful and cannot be enjoyed on any level.

I picked up the Kaiser Chiefs a few days back, and while I haven't listened to it enough to say it's shite or not the fact that I haven't listened to it save the first two tracks is not a good sign.

I have to say, the worst artists of all time were the Eagles. For every halfway decent tune like "Desperado", you had multi-million dollar crap like "Hotel California", One of These Nights", "New Kid In Town", "The Long Run", etc. But Don Henley et al need to be lynched for unleashing the musical crime of the century on an unsuspecting nation in the early Seventies: "Take It Easy" :barf:

Any band that has TV promotion but no airplay.

Any band that is announced; 'You must hear this new band...' or 'The amazing new release by...' or 'The stunnning debut by...'.

I'd prefer heard but we might as well include seen.

I may be unusual, but when I see a band I usually hear them at the same time....

All of them manufactured Girls/boys band (phwwaaah !), loathing Mtv's set lists and (roll on...) those lame bastards : oasis, the shame of this side of the world.

Beat Dis: shock of my life when i heard that pseudo-teeny goth shite called the Rasmus. My god. i was LOL as to how god-awful they where.

i also can't stand Jet and the Hives. Shockingly Shite!!!

Also: Ill have nothing bad said about Blur, or Damon Alburn. I cant think of anything he has been involved in that hasnt been fucking amazing. Demon Days is fantastic.

Its amazing to think its 11 years since Oasis only decent album, and they are still going off the back of it. Mind you, their new tune is alright.

Oh, we're talking about crappy bands we've seen live?

Well, that would be Million Dead and Antiproduct. THey're all I can think of right now. How can I forget the band that supported Unknown Pleasures, they were three guys - two of which were on synths and they were like an even suckier version of the Killers. The lyrics were complete garbage and the singer wore some type of "fluffy" t-shirt, I forgot the name but vampires wear them too in horror films. They sucked balls.

And for bands in general [other than the obvious]:

-Kings of Leon - hillbillies, awful vocals, too much air time. -Bloc Party - dull, guitaring is boring, nothing special, overrated and the vocals are awful, real awful.

Worst local of all time for me was Dharma Bums, sub-REM wannabes who left en masse halfway during New Order's 1989 Portland show.

For the life of me, I haven't heard one thing by the Manics that make me wanna hear more; I hear stuff here and there, but they just sound rather dull to me.

Most of the current chart stuff is rather bad; Avril, the Simpsons, Good Charlotte, and a whole host of others (rap and nu-metal-ish who sound a lot alike)

Saw the New York Dolls in Belfast last year, complete and utter drivel. Morrissey shouldn't have bothered.

Of course, Belfast has an atrocious music scene. I never saw a good local band while i was there, they were all pearl jam/nirvana wannabees. Fookin Shit the lot of them.

Corrigan, Element (who supported muse, amazingly) and the debonaires were the worst offenders. Still, not as bad as the magic numbers.

I must say that I didn't like Rolling Stones, when they played at The Globe in Stockholm some years ago. The place is to fucking big, so the sound is terrible if you sit far from the center.

Same goes to Bowie when he played in Gothenburg with his Glass spider tour. Very bad sound.

Die Kruezen when they openned for the Butthole Surfers many moons ago.

fortunately many of us on this site missed them as we were drinking across the street at TGI fridays. sounds like we didn't miss much.

Beta or VHS is the most recent totally sucky band I witnessed. They openned for Duran Duran this year.

Eminem (don't ask...I saw one song at a festival)

RUN-DMC (some surprise guest)

Blink 182 (seen them twice, hated them twice....again, festival)
