i've only watched it once or twice, although my roommate has seen every episode. one of my friends told me my personality was similar to that of rory (the daughter)--very dry and somewhat sarcastic.

Could be, but she's also very annoying, as I have found you not to be.
When I watch(ed) Home Improvement I couldn't get how Tim Allen was considered a humorist.
BUT, I might say that when I watched Galaxy Quest few days ago I changed my opinion. If he is not really fun, at least he can be in something really fun.
But what do I avoid?way too many bad ones to mention. just check out Tuesday nights TV Guide. there's loadson a Tuesday 4 of the very best though are Seinfeld, Fawlty Towers, the Office and erm... the Littlest Hobo. Hell Yeah!!!

I have this thing where i love terrible shows. For example, 7th heaven and rock star:Inxs. Something about being so bad that its good.
On a serious note, the best show in existence is general hospital.

Reunion (I'm going out on a limb, seeing as it hasn't aired yet, but trust me when I say the promos don't make it look good) 17.) Any show with the phrase "executive producer: David E. Then, I shall nominate many reality tv crap such as "Temptation Island"... this one was by far the most boring piece of shit I ever watched.
Fox is pretty fast on pulling on the trigger, I remember watching 2 series that they premiered before the X-Files, "Action" and some other about baby.. both were pretty boring and didn't last more than 4 episodes..
But they also pulled the plug on possible good shows, like, ahem, "Firefly" and "Wonderfalls"...
Oh well...
Usually I don't watch boring stuff ;) but when it's squeezed between The Simpsons and the X-Files, I watched a lot of crap

Yeah, I must admit that I like it, unfortunatly they moved it from Sunday to some day of the week and always forgot to watch it.
They tried "That 80's Show", but I think it didn't last a full season neither...
Someone would have to tie me down and keep my eyelids open with rusty needles for me to ever watch bollocks like Big Brother, Fame Academy, Pop Idol, The Osbournes, etc...in fact, I can't watch any 'reality' show because it shows nothing of the sort. The minute someone is conscious of a camera on them, it's no longer reality. TV has so dumbed down in recent years, I listen to the radio far more, especially when NO are featured in a festival!
There is 2 types of reality TV...
The worst type is the one going on "live" where they have webcams and everything...
Although I must say I've been following a few, and it was nevertheless entertaining, it's not good tv, it's good entertainment, but it can't be considered as reality TV since somebody is editing 24h of life in 24 mins daily.
On the other side, you have competitions... like Survivor and American Idol.. that's something else.
I enjoy Survivor because it's a game of strategy that lasts 16 weeks.. but again, it's a game.. I don't see much difference between this and a quiz, the main difference is that you actually get to know the contestants.
I didn't click with any others though, The Amazing Race seemed entertaining, The Mole too, but I never clicked as much as Survivor...
Celebrity Love Island (enough said)
Barrymore (a really annoying tithead of a man. Not funny).
Albion Market (possibly the naffest soap opera ever. Thankfully it was short lived).
Saved by The Bell: The College Years, The New Class (or any other spin off I have forgotton to mention).
Howard's Way (this was so tedious and some how it always ended up on the TV in our house).
The Bold and The Beautiful (I used to watch this during my lazy student years-so bad it almost became good).
i only find american idol interesting during the first round when we get the william hungs; after that it gets boring.
dawson's creek is a classic. i do believe it even describes a genre of music now: 'that john mayer is so dawson's creek.'

and where do i begin with pacey (joshua jackson) he annoys the shit out of me he's got such arrogance in his voice and line delivery mind you so have the rest of them.
the couple who i live with watch it all the time on DVD. i've tried to wathc a full episode but it just pisses me off within 5 mins when either dawson or bog eyed cack footed katie holmes opens her squeeky haggled voice.
i'm gonna stop now cause i'm getting into rant mode

as an early 30-something who watches mid-20 to early 30-year-old actors playing 16-18 year olds, i must stand up for the creek. pacey is my capeside honeypie.

I don't know why but the first thing that popped into my head when i saw this thread was a programme called 'babes in the wood' which for a premise had some hot chicks who lived in st john's wood i can't remmeber who was in it (possibly denise van outen>?) but they had the comic timing of a doughnut
As a kid, I hated Welcome Back Kotter, probably because of John Travolta and Gabe Kaplan.
What else truly sucks from my viewing?
* Friends..........couldn't make it through one episode.
* There was a television show on ABC based on Animal House, with some of the characters, like Hoover and D-Day. No Bluto or Otter though. 
* One season of "reality TV" with the first Real World on MTV was enough to wean me off of that stuff; have not seen one second of shows like Survivor, The Bachelor, Joe Millionaire, etc.
* Never cared for Married With Children, Nikki Cox on Unhappily Ever After was much better eye candy (shallow, I know.......:) )
* That 70's Show had a couple of decent seasons, but soon ran its course, the 80's version was pretty bad.
* The only time I've ever been unemployed (two months back in the mid 80s), I watched a bit of daytime TV and started to get a bit attached to General Hospital, when Demi Moore used to be on there, but I thanked God when I got a job and didn't have to watch anything like that any more. On holidays now when I don't have to work, I just can't stand to watch any soap or talk show like Springer, etc cause they just make me go 
* Truth is, I didn't watch a ton of TV, and my list of all-time faves is fairly small: Saturday Night Live, Soap, Northern Exposure, Twin Peaks, X-Files, Simpsons, Seinfeld. Any other good shows, like Frasier or Cheers, I've generally caught an interesting episode or two, but they've never captivated me enough to make me wanna actively sit down and find when they're on, I usually don't have much time for that. I catch up with a lot of newer faves like Curb Your Enthusiasm or Chappelle's Show by buying the DVD sets, to suit my own viewing habits.

For me, the wish-I-had-said-that dialogue was the attraction of DC. There is no way I had watched it, if they spoke the way most real teens do.
Another show with excellent dialogue is Gilmore Girls, which I occasionally catch. Seems there is not much of a story though and all the male characters are quite pathetic.
