Before hand I apoligize to any U2 fans, but I just heard a really bad U2 song. The one with fookin spanish. Absurd.
First time i heard full song. I think it was on an ipod commercial.
I just had to get it off my chest.

Yes, but so do warts!

U2 have a few good songs... the one in question is DEFINITELY not one of them.

They do--their older songs. Sure, it's "new" stuff, but I don't think they've really done anything new for quite a while.

Yeah, that's Vertigo. Oh, New Year's Day is my favorite U2 song!

I thought we were talking about the song itself, not Bono. ![]()

had bono sang 'quatro' he could've been sued by sam the sham for ripping off the heartbreakingly moving 'wooly bully.'

Ah, Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs! I first heard them at about the age-- or maybe a bit younger-- as you first heard New Order.
But uno, dos, tres, qatorce! Gotta love it, no?
Ive been subjected to a new U2 video today. Is it the latest single "All Because Of You"?.That makes three awful singles from their latest album with City Of Blinding Lights and Vertigo being the others.Sometimes You Cant Make It On Your Own was OK.

no.
bLuE oRdEr wrote: Hello, hello? Hola! Welcome to a place called Vertigo...
aren't they just so international now?
i loved them until achtung baby. then i couldn't give a rat's ass. vertigo just made my growing dislike for the band materialize further.
To me they've become just like the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Same shit different day.
All that you can't leave behind and Atomic bomb could've been the same album everything sounds the same, much like callifornication and by the way from the chillis, but people ar elapping it up, do they not want to be sonically challenged or here their favourite band 'progress'?
U2 bug me big time, i used to really like the chilli peppers too but now they're boring and everyhting sounds the same too, but while they keep getting bigger and bigger releasing this stuff, nothings gonna change
Vertigo is shite. the most marketed and overplayed song perhaps in history.
Although i quite like City of Blinding Lights.
Honestly though, you could take every u2 song since 1987, and you probably couldnt differentiate from album to album. Apart from the disaster which was Pop.

Good while driving the car.
Bad for the home stereo though.
bLuE oRdEr wrote: Why is it bad for the home stereo?
Coz, to tell the utter truth, the song is wack! It only works as a rhythm and noise pattern to the sound of the car's engine.
bLuE oRdEr wrote: It works for waking me up in the morning. Hopefully that means on the home stereo.
See? The song works not for pleasure but rather for motivating.
But I really like it.
OK, "rock the shack, rock the shack, rock the shack" is a stupid lyric, but nobody here has accused Barney of writing great lyrics.
The rest of the song is ace.
"I've bee accused of everythin', from Timbuktu to old Berlin." Uhh, accused of everything except writing great lyrics Barney.
Now Morrissey, he can write some lyrics.

BTW, look what says under my avatar for many years.... :)
I actually prefer Barney's method of automatic writing he used in 1982-83.

I know. I used to wonder about it until I put Get Ready back on the CD player. It's kinda like the Ramones line in Commando: "From old Hanoi to East Berlin, Commando - involved again"
Have you beeen accused of everything, Mr. Barcode?

Mr. Blue Order, I'm innocent.
