Err.. that's Kate. ;) Claire's the pregnant Aussie lass. Both equally easy on the eye. ![]()
Season 1 finished here in Ireland a few weeks back, I was hooked. Thing is I'm very wary of even opening threads like this one in case any spoilers ruin things for season 2, I've already found out 1 or 2 details I could've done without.
p.s. Thanks for a cracking desktop wallpaper, Johnny. ![]()
I missed last night's episode (for obvious reasons)- here's hoping it repeats on E4.
Also missed out on Corrie's Jamie finding out about his naughty Dad... will have to catch the omnibus...
Neither compares to seeing NO do a full JD set thou'

Season 2 started last night here in Sweden.
I really liked season 1, so will probably follow this one too.
Saw the first episode of S1-thought it was fantastic-then never saw it again! Thats what i get for working abroad,it`ll probably be repeated soon though.

Oops ... her names Kate? shows how much attention i take to names on tv.i dont even know the male leads name.i just know hes a doctor (i think)
I must agree...awesome show, indeed...
I didn't watch a single entire episode until I purchased the DVD of S1 for my wife and I ended up watching them with her...Now, I am totally addicted to the show!
I think this is one of the first shows that has people actually thinking about logic, philosophy, math, science, faith, etc...all at the same time. I loved the first episode where they reveal who and what is in the hatch. Very clever how they did all that.(I won't give it away so not to spoil it for anyone.)
Have any of you visited the website, www.oceanic-air.com ??? lots and lots of clues and on that website. There is hidden text that you can find and they use the numbers in various ways, etc...
The message board from the official site is also packed with a lot of wackos that disect every single second of the show and have so many theories, they'll make you brain melt...
http://forums.go.com/abc/oceanic/index
Let's keep this thread open as the "official" LOST thread.
My theory is that they are all in some sort of time warp, but that is me.
Rob
top show agreed,as for the official forums?? yes they are utter brain melters agreed. I MEAN did anyone actually see the emblem TATTOOED on the polar baers toungues???? i fuckin didnt. then there is all the numbers??? apparently when jack calls the time of death in a flashback has something to do with whatever is going on. as for what is going on, i think they are all dead, and the ones that died in the crash actually survived. 2 things point to this, the woman whos husband was in the tail section when the plane crashed is convinced hes still alive. and the woman that drowned in a rip tide (no body),oh dear ive been reading that bloody forum too much eeeeeek.

Yeah, tell me about it...someone from the forums even has a freeze-frame of the shark that attacks Sawyer and Michael and guess what they found on the tail of the shark??? Yes, you guessed it...the "Octagon emblem" from the hatch.
Lost has to be one of the most original shows on television.
BTW, they reveal the fate of Rose's husband in the last episode. Check it out.
okay wasnt Rose's Husband Black in the pilot? did'nt he go to the Bathroom just before the plane crashed and Jack was talking to her? am i making this up? the guy claiming to be Bernard(Her Husband) is White!?!?, am i imagining they showed bernard in the pilot?
I reckon they are all dead and don't realise it, OR they've crashed in the Bermuda triangle...
I really hope the writers know where they are going and that this doesn't descend into an XFiles quagmire; no sign of that presently (we're still on series 1 in the UK).
shit. between you lot and my friends going on about how good it is, now i'm going to have to rent the first season. thanks a lot people. ![]()
I watched the first season this summer and got hooked instantly.
I couldn't wait for next summer to see it in french, so I switched to english ;)
Missed episode 2, but I downloaded it!
I refuse to buy into the hype...I'm still burned over Alf, and don't want to get my hopes up :p
However, I wouldn't mind being lost on a desert island with Evangeline Lilly

I will have to go back and see on the dvd, but I don't think they ever showed Rose's husband, because, yes, he was in the bathroom.
Have you noticed the overall theme of "Black and White" on the show??? They found a satchel on the bodies of "Adam and Eve" near the fountain with a black rock and and white rock. The name of the ship is called, "The Black Rock"...The backgammon pieces that Walt and Hurley were playing with were black and white. When Claire had here little experience in the jungle and went missing, there is a closeup of her eyes where one of her eyes is black and the other white. Also, all the food containers in the hatch are in black and white packaging, except the "Apollo Bars"...so it just makes perfect logical sense that Rose's husband be a white guy; White/Black...now, I didn't discover all this on my own, I found all that out from the official lost message boards. I tell you that place is breeding addicts. Do a search on the Lost Message Board and I am sure you'll find a million other examples of black/white themes....
Also, if you watch the episodes closely; you will also find a connection to the "Octagon" symbol. I can't remember where it pops up, but there are octagons in almost every one of the first episodes and then later we find out that the octagon is the emblem used in the hatch....
There is a lot of bizarre stuff taking place on that show.
I think if you watch closely in the last episode, when Hurley is pigging out on the food in the hatch; the milk container he is chugging out of has a picture of a "lost child" on the side and it looks very much like "Walt", the kid stolen from Michael in the last episode of the first season.

that's what i thought about six feet under. then i rented the first season and realized that the hype was justified. it was one of the best shows on TV--i cried like a baby during the final episode. it was one of the few shows that made an emotional impact because it was so well-written and the acting was superb.
i'll give lost a gander. it sounds interesting--not to mention it has a hobbit in it.
LOST is my favorite show of the mall right now !
You should definitly rent the first season Christy !
And I do fancy Kate myself quite heavily...

eh theres always bloody one aint there eh,just by the fact that you have "refrained" from comment means you think its shite and have therefore you have actually commented without commenting.
my wife does this all the time, you know what i mean, with THAT LOOK
.
er your not her are you???![]()
no.. i dont think its shite. I just tried it to watch it once. It does seem better then the rest of shite on the tube. Granted, those arent high standards. What im trying to say is that what i think doesnt count, because i havent form any valid op. on the show. I just wasnt impressed. Talk about rambling.

Gee, they're everywhere!
Well, actually there should be less canadian on TV now that our dollar climbed a lot against the US currency (it was 65 cents 2 years ago, it's now 85), which means there will be less tv series filmed in Vancouver probably...
Incredible how much the US dollar dropped in so few time.

I wasn't really referring to filming of US TV shows in Canada but rather Canadian actors in US movies and TV shows not filmed in Canada, such as Ryan Gosling, Scott Speedman, Neve Campbell, Hayden Christensen, just to name a few.
What about the Aussies, Pats?
They seem to be having a golden run in Tinseltown these days too.
:\pimp3:
By the way, is the cute blonde Aussie actress playing in Lost well-known in Australia ? Who is she ?
And what about that guy playing "Desmond" ?

Yes, that's true, DC, but they sometimes have accents. The Canadians don't, and thus blend in more subversively.

If you mean the blonde girl Claire, she's not really a big name here. Glancing at her bio it seems like she hasn't trod the well-worn Aussie path to Hollywood (ie spent a few years in a bad soap opera or a few years at NIDA) but has done a few small roles in 'quality' US TV shows that are filmed here (such as The Beastmaster).
Which one is Desmond? We've only had series one here which finished a few months back.

Until the Canadians have to say "about" and all bets are off!

I'm sure they're very careful with that word, DC.

It was good. Unfortunately, they didn't have the DVD clearance for the original music and changed it on the DVD, which was very disaappointing.

Hmmm, more Roswell conspiracies? I can think of someone who would've lapped all that up.

One for the collectors there folks.

I still find it very funny when I hear somebody say "aboot", god this sounds aweful.
Obviously I don't speak english that way, as most of the english I've learned was through american movies and tv ;)
