With people beating each other over the head with furniture!
EAST HARTFORD -- A child's birthday party escalated into a brawl early Sunday in which several people were stabbed and at least eight people were arrested, police said.
East Hartford police responded around 12:45 a.m. to a reported fight and stabbings at 28 Crosby St. When officers arrived during a driving rainstorm, they found several dozen people screaming and running in all directions.
One officer spotted one person beating another with a chair in the middle of the street, said Sgt. Michael Fowich. According to police, the fight erupted after a downstairs neighbor in the two-story home went upstairs to complain about the noise at the birthday party.
Police said six people were transported to area hospital for treatment of stab wounds. One of those being treated is a Massachusetts man who faces charges stemming from the brawl, police said.
