It's going to give you trouble...

Wifey calls while I was out.

"Buick won't start." "What happened?" "Stopped at Petco. Car won't start." "Any noise, running bad prior, what happens when you turn the key?" "It turns over once then nothing." "Could be the battery. It may be loose on the - terminal as I noticed that when I replaced the waterpump on Monday. Tighten it."

She calls back hours later. "Car still won't start." "OK. I'll rescue it when I get back."

It's halloween, Beggars Night. One of us has to be with the kids or stay at home to hand out candy. Or we need to wait til 8 pm to deal with this shit. As it is it appears that I need to stop at wal-Mart (no Tescos in Des Moines) and purchase a new battery. Then a brilliant thought! Connect the trailer to the bike and ride the thrtee miles to Petco. Extract battery. Ride a mile to Wal-Mart exchange battery ride back put the bastard in. Place bike in back seat, trailer in boot and be home in time for Family Guy. Simple.

So I load up ye olde Burley kid trailer with tools and head out. Once at the car I decide toi see if it will start. Turns over nicely. Does not start. No gas smell to betray flooding. Look at gas guage. ONE HAIR ABOVE E. The one item I failed to bring, a gas can.

Ride home. "Honey, the car's out of gas." Grab the gas can, ditch the trailer by putting the can in the panniers--a clean 1 gallon container, ride away. I had my doubts. Too easy of a solution. But sure enough the car started.
