Happy Mondays, not so bad after all.

After making my debut Happy Mondays purchase, i've always been put off by the fact my brother and a few people i've wroked with and friends have always rated them as the best thing on factory.....Err yeah right.

Anyway i saw bummed for £3 on my travels the other week its actually pretty good, so i've dug a bit deeper downloaded a few tracks and they're alot better than i thought, still not the best thing on Factory Records but i'll invest in a few other records i think

Anyone got their last album,the one produced by half of Talking Heads? Saw it recently in Vinyl Revival and was mulling over whether to get it,to to hear the final product of the tune Steve Coogan plays to London Records in 24HR Party People.Any good? And did Mr Ryder finally get to add any vocals to it?

Happy Mondays are an absolutely brilliant band. I personally think that they are the best band on Factory, next only to JD/NO. And while it is much-maligned, I think that YES, PLEASE is a fantastic album. Sunshine & Love is worth the price of admission alone. Everything they ever did is worth owning and listening to many times over. They are a grower band, though - many people don't like them immediately. I actually hated them for over a year after my initial listen to PILLS 'N' THRILLS AND BELLYACHES, but grew to think of them as one of the most innovative, brilliant and original bands of all-time. PILLS 'N' THRILLS is a good place to start, although 24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE PLASTIC FACE... is probably their most accessible full-length. While I think that albums are always the best place to start, DOUBLE EASY: THE U.S. SINGLES can't be beat. It's a good introduction to some of the band's best tracks, some of which are non-album.

That track is the magnificent Sunshine & Love - one of the best songs of the 1990's - and yes, Shaun definitely got to add some choice bits to it.
