i saw it on sunday and it was amazing. it's not a 'gay cowboy film.' it's a film about two individuals in love who happen to be men and happen to be cowboys. yes, that sounds cheesy, but if you see it you'll know what i mean. highly recommended.

The thing about me is, I get jealous when I see a lovey-dovey hetero couple, but I squeal over two men in love with each other.

True, though. Don't get the big gay hype on it all, seems to discredit whatever story there might be to be seen. And I'm not big on imagining my lust interests as gay - just like no one sits around wishing for their boyfriend to be gay (unless you're Terri McMillian or Star Jones, I suppose.)

I don't mind if my boyfriend (I don't have one at the moment) was gay. I would get jealous and angry if a boyfriend of mine had an affair with a woman, but I wouldn't mind him having an affair with another man.

i was very moved by this film--something terrible happens at the end. annie proulx, who wrote the short story, or larry mcmurtry, who wrote the screenplay, must have been influenced by an infamous and tragic hate crime that took place in wyoming in the 1990s (i'm sure many of you know what i'm talking about). it was the inclusion of that part of the storyline that was so upsetting.

actually, they do have several scraps, including a bloody punch up right before they leave the mountain when they realize they're in love and there's not much they can do about it since heath ledger's about to get married.
