Not as daft as it sounds and Frank Smarra will be amazed that I actually would prefer it if Argentina won the World Cup instead of England.

Colin knows why !

I take it you've got monies on the Argies, Mike?

Er, of the options available, I'm gonna go with England. Dur, obviously. The feel-good factor we had from beating the Argies then Denmark in the last World Cup is something I wanna see replicated again next summer. Bring it on.

it will be: England, Argentina, France, Brazil or Germany. THE USUALS!!! Although South Americans don't usually win it on Euro soil. Spain as an outsider bet.

No change there then eh?

All we have left now is the ability to begrudge other teams who are doing better than us:evil4:

Think hes on the coaching staff at Walsall - or somewhere like that - not what you would call a 'tried&tested' manager. Kinda hoping this will be a disaster - just to show how good a job Brian Kerr (& Mick McCarthy) was doing with our limited resources. As long as we rely on guys who are playing in England we are fucked TBH**(1)** - none of the Irish based players get a decent look-in (eg- K.Doyle - was doing well at Cork City - couldn't get a sniff of a call-up. Transfers to Reading - been in 2 squads since then (scored 12 goals for them so far too! He didnt suddenly become a better player once he stepped off the plane in England, he should have been playing for ireland ages ago. & we have plenty more playing here at his level. Rant stops here:blush:

**(1)**no offense intended - just mean that if our players are not the best in your league, how could they be the best team in the world.

germany, or australia, but i'm realistic enough not to expect either of them to actually progress too far. i wouldn't mind it if england won.

I just need a replacement for my 1994 WC England shirt that's ratty tatty and past it's wear- abaility.

So - if them winning will grant me a cool shirt to wear, then by all means... :thumb:

Well, I would prefer the United States to win, but England seems a bit more realistic...besides, it would give Shuggy bear just that much more to piss and moan about!!!

And having just read underneath Melly's pic, I have a sudden urge to listen to Benny Benassi...
