I have never EVER resorted to being so sad, low and downright sexually inadequately shite as to play air guitar.

It started 24 years ago with a Slazenger.

But now I have a pukka Telecaster to play with.

But I still play better on my (current air guitar) Wilson carbon graphite :\ohwell:

I prefer air drums or the occasional air 'singing' especially when a good track comes on while I'm sitting in my car during rush hour traffic and people can see what I'm doing. The real singing comes in the shower but it's probably a stretch to call it real singing.

Does anyone 'play' air sequencer-button-pushing on BM though?

Depends on how often I'm drunk, or if I'm feeling particularly silly.

Air drums, on the other hand...

I'm a one woman air band. I do drums on desks, keys on my steering wheel and bass or guitar in front of the mirror.

Also known to do air flute and air violin when garnering sympathy for someone.

I do a brilliant air Start-button-Push

:D Melster...no badges yet?

PS I also start to air drive when watching in-car stuff from any decent racing series....usally only my feet, but sometimes my hands will move too, tho they'll not be outstreched. the creepy thing is...it's not really a deliberate thing

No badges yet. Maybe tomorrow. :)

The only scary time I've ever been almost killed by my air-playing was when I was speeding down a highway and got wrapped up in a particular bit of the song "Din Da Da". Swerve, squeal.. good thing it was a mostly barren road that night.

A major reason I do NOT drive. ;)

Mind you.... i may learn over on your side...no gears or corners can't be bad. Then again.... teeny brakes and cars sculpted from single Iron ingots=bad thing :D

I did, then I got, you know, a real bass and keyboards. There's a balsa wood acoustic electric guitar around here somewhere, probably in the laundry.

Anyone seen that new invention where you put on some gloves and it "translates" your finger movements into actual sound? I think actually it's a camera that records your finger movements.

Yeah, it's some kit that! Makes the player look very odd, but impressive nonetheless

it uses a bunch of transducers in the fingers....it's a very slight extension of what Laurie Anderson used to do with transducers all over her body about 25 years ago. Camera, or at least optical systems would include things like the MIDI-grid....a virtual "cage" of crisscrossing IR beams, which track the players movements. It sounds bollox, but at least it's no fake like JM Jarre's laser harp :D
