I voted for Jem, mainly out of loyalty, but also because I suspect she and the parrot are one and the same :D
Mrs Peel.....
and.... the story of tux And more, from Linus From the above.....
So when you think "penguin", you should be imagining a slighly overweight penguin (*), sitting down after having gorged itself, and having just burped. It's sitting there with a beatific smile - the world is a good place to be when you have just eaten a few gallons of raw fish and you can feel another "burp" coming.
reason enough to prefer it over windows I think you will agree :D
BTW, I can see me and the comrade having a fight over you...I'VE never met a girl who likes tux, and not only knows what DRM is, but knows it blows goats. (OK, apart from Melly :D )

Went for Snorrimon's cos Puffins are just gorgeous to look at. Amazing birds.

The geeks shall inherit the earth :D
Besides you'd not be on this site were it not for that little fella and his mates...you don't think the backbone of the net runs on anything by MS do you ("someone in africa installed a program, please wait while the internet reboots" LOL) In my view there is little that's geeky about a fat recently laid penguin :d

Ahhh while posting this I realised it's a Che Guevara (mangled spelling) hat :d

Note to Cambo: Tux is not a real penguin. Repeat, not a real penguin.

:D
beg to differ Mr Jarvis...
there is a real gentoo penguin at a zoo in England who is sponsored by people involved in OSND and the EFF and FSF and all sorts of open developement related organizations. His name Is indeed Tuxedo T. Penguin. :D
Albeit that the little fellow above is not he, merely his avatar.
Anyway, it's the best story of a logo i ever heard....fat, full of herring, and thoroughly content...can't say that about a half eaten apple or a broken window with 3 lines of 6 dots on it :D

My obsession with Tux is now at an all-time high. Thanks for the links! I have even book-marked them. I especially like the pic of Tux reading a book.
How adorable. And yes, Tux always looks like he just ate a herring, which is part of his charm. I'll even admit I play Tux Racer a LOT.
Thanks for the compliment! Honestly, I have never met such great, witty guys like you and Comrade before on a forum or even in RL. And for that matter, I've never frequented a board as much as I do this one.
This forum is a sweet addiction indeed. ![]()

You on the Italian side of the family, Ronno? :D
nope i'm not. there is an italian side of my family. that started when mum's sister married an italian. curiously he is the only one in our family who actually has blond hair and blue eyes. this is also the reason why two of my cousins now reside in italy.
do forgive the odd spello.
Comrade Shampanyov wrote: You just sounded italian, that's all. :D
i said forgive the odd spello. my cousins now want me to come an visit them, since they've conned me into getting one of those headsets, we talk regularly for free over the net. we talk in german.

I should have brought my old avatar back. Gotta love red wing blackbirds, natures little assholes.

Yes it works it's way into your brain this place. I think it's cos we're all so shocked to find other peoeple clueful enough to get NO :D
I aint played tuxracer in ages....mainly cos it's insanely hard LOL but what a GORGEUOUS game, tho the windows version is as hideous as everything else run on it :(
If you can't get enough of Tux...I always find xpenguins a good way to have him around.....

As for this being an imaginary place...well each of nus IS the precise centre of the only universe we'll ever experience :D
I go away for one day and...
It's not up for the vote. My Alfie is by far the better bird, he's clever, he has a huge vocabulary, he's got a sense of humour, he's very affectionate and can play football. Penguins, puffins and
Spotnicks are inferior to my little feathered friend.
:p
