What country would you like to live in?

UK (London preferably) or somewhere on the Greek Islands

I know these countries differ in many ways, still would be nice to spend half a year in the sunny islands and then another half in the rain, haha

Just kidding about the rain btw, I read it somewhere that London has more sunny days per year now than Belgrade does. Wtf??

I can confirm this first hand cause we had more than double the average rainfall here last year.

anyone who knows me knows that my six years in the UK were six years of finally being at home. hopefully i'll be back for good in the next few years; preferably in london or glasgow, but i'll take anywhere except for west wales.

i'd also like a nice condo in neve tzedek in tel aviv. a great city with great nightlife.

if i have to stay in the US, boston is my ideal city.

It concerns a few factors:

1. Beauty of the place
2. Climate
3. Communication with the world (I want my friends and relatives to be able to visit me)
4. Vernacular culture and population.

So I don't know... maybe Japan!

But as for just visiting countries for certain seasons, I would like Ireland, England, Greenland, Tanzania, Australia, Argentina, Austria, Thailand... anywhere.

I'd like to work in NY for 2-3 years and one day move back to Cape Town, South Africa where I grew up for the beach lifestyle. Other than that I'm pretty happy living in Melbourne.

City, London, born here, live here, it's buzzing 24/7 and it's cool, so is the content, the people and the diversity!

Can't see myself leaving ever, for good, although considering maybe going back to New York at the end of the year to live again, just for a short period!

here's my house when i first moved in. the garden is established now. i just couldn't quickly lay my hands on a recent picture.

the front of the house looks like this now. actually that is the car my mum managed to total the week before she passed on, and i had to fight the insurance company tooth and nail on to make them pay up.

anyway you get the idea lots of shrubs now in the front yard.

but it's so des--ert dry. very dry. great golf but so coLd at night. love to travel & live in so many different Countries for a while. but would have to be along the coast. if it weren't for the air/water quality issues then even major port cities like China- Shanghai or Russia- Vladivostok . Portugal. Korea. Singapore. but would like to believe that the government has it's people in their best interest. so then New Zealand. would like to be away from the city lights while having the night life not too far away. I have the same car !!! well almost. it is a white GT-i 16 Corolla. Build in 1987, less than 180,000 kilometers. I almost only use it as a place to listen music, at night on the motorway... I am "le fou de l'autostrade". I call it my "Substance 1987 Corolla de collection de prestige"...

Well one of my grandfather was from Firenze, I was born and live in the South of France... Love my piece of land, open-minded people throughout the ages (two religion wars, the very two times war happened in this piece of France). Nowadays invaded by Northeners... From France and from abroad (lot of people get retired here). They say people are stupid, but most of the time, they speak about them !!! i.e. Stupid one from St-Etienne who complains about a retired Belgian who cannot stand his neighbor from Paris who is the nastiest man his neighbour from Strasbourg ever known... There I stand in the middle !

Well, my nationalism is in my eyes and in my belly. I love the landscapes, the food... French food is what I miss the most when I am abroad... And, of course, I am fond of Italian food. By the way, my grandfather could not stand the view of a pizza... "Dish of misery" as he used to say. He never understood how and why American GIs brought this to the world...

Jiphy-so lucky to be where you are. so beautiful. spent the last two months with friends who were on the end of a years' sabatical teaching 'think in the University (? ) Lyon. flew from Copenhagen down to Lyon. drove down to Aix-en-Provence. up to the Netherlands. over to the England... never seen orange sunsets like those over there. your families standing on the porch noting the foreign influence. how does one people believe that their ways are better. then travel and try and change the local culture. but this thread is just what country to live & why.

What have I done! I abandoned my family circle, my close best friends, my national food and I came to a foreign land where I can't find nobody to befriend. A circle of close friends means a lot to me. Maybe more than love and prosperity.

But China is a place I'd love to live, although getting to see good bands live would bit a tad hard. In Shanghai I heard a band that mangled JD, U2 and plenty others into an out-of-time jumble of noise.

well i did go to school and university here, but canberra is the sort of town which many people leave after being educated. as you get older it get harder to make new friends, and many of the old ones have fallen by the wayside.

i'd like to go to alaska,

apart from that i'd move to Derby get a 9-5 job and a season ticket at pride park and jobs a good un, as they say
