Music trivia......

if you listen to "out there somewhere part II" by Orbital, the UFO sound effect from this show is CLEARLY audible in the later stages of the piece.

How typical of females to be devoid of the intelligence needed to grasp a show like UFO, they'd rather watch ghosties and kissing programs instead.

oh they are all very quick and clever about who getting it from who in corrie and moronenders and stuff, but anything beyond the braindeadeninglt obvious and normal and it's "silly" "geeky" "sad", you name it. I object becaue TV cunts have started putting chick things into sci fi to get them to watch....example....Dr WHo...is now a fucking peadophile (a girl rose's age from gallifrey would be still in nursery) so they could get women interested in a stupid, pointless, distracting "will they wont they" bullshit plot.

Yeah, I just checked out the website. Apparently he and Mike Billington (Foster) died within a week of eachother.

I think what I loved most about Gerry's stuff is that they DO what other shows bluff. The sheer scale of things in thunderbirds or captain scarlet or UFO is beyond anything you could ever do without his model techniques. I always hated shows where they would talk about some fantastic place or event, but somehow avoid showing it, Gerry always delivered.

And as I have said before, Tbirds is SUCH a good show for children because it has all the gadgets and ships and gizmos, yet all of it is to help people not harm them.

the space sequences in UFO are better than anything except 2001....actually Kubrick tried to steal all anderson's people, and when he didn't get them, gave the staff he DID get the brief that 2001 was to look as good as thunderbirds.
