Okay so in my desperate attempts to land some Pearl Jam Astoria tickets, or at least land some money to buy them on eBay, I turned to the legendary show that is Deal Or No Deal.

I just spent ages entering the competition online, filling out the same stupid little form about 50 times, only to see some other guy has won the £1000.

I feel like tearing my hair out: a) because I'm so stressed and depressed about the whole thing and b) because there's so much of it now.

ARRRRGGGHHH why can't I just go to this gig?!?

Regards,

Depressed Mancunian

Because you're under-age?! :skeptic:

:nonono:

I know people from my school that have been in the Astoria, some younger than me.

What, the age-old trick of one lad on the other's shoulders with a huge raincoat draped over the top. And a false beard.

The beauty of going to gigs when I was underage is that everyone was underage.

You might be fcut at the Astoria cos there would be a very wide age range one presumes.

I dunno man, but I know people from my school have gone into the Astoria no questions asked, one of these guys is actually in the year below me and has a babyface.

No coats or beards either.

I see nothing on the Mean Fiddler/Astoria site about age limits anyway.

I'm not gonna be at this gig anyway, I just don't wanna officially give up.

Fake ID. That's where it's at.

Just seen this on a NIN at Astoria gig review:

"(bow down before me, o lowly Nü-Mansonite Kindergoths unable to get past the 16-and-up age limit)."

There is hope yet.........?

I think I'm gonna sell some stuff to raise money.

Just a thought.

In the US that show has been known to be called "Opening boxes with Howie Mandel" or "what the F is this shit??"

Maybe so, but every time I enter there's a chance I can win £500, £1000, £2000, £5000 or even £10,000 depending on what day it is. Worth a shot.

Aaaaahhh yes, just to add to my "favourite band playing tiny one off show and I can't go" misery, the RHCP are playing at a secret venue in London on Friday for Radio 1 competition winners only.

WWWHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY??!!!!?

Fear Factory are playing there two days before. Buy a ticket for that, and then hide in the bogs until Pearl Jam come on.

GOOD IDEA!!!

Here's an idea...get better taste in music :p

Nah, just kidding. Wait around back for the roadies to start showing up, then lend a hand to one of the guys carrying speakers onstage and slip out when no one notices. I'm sure security won't mind having an unpaying, underage concert goer somewhere in the hall

That's the best I got

OR....

You could just give me £600

Relax: I'm kidding.

I don't care if I'm talking to myself on this thread, man I'm so gutted and angry!!!

Screwed out of seeing Pearl Jam by not being old enough to enter the competition to win tickets on the website, then screwed again in the general sale by a slow computer and loads of touts. It sucks.

Screwed out of seeing the Chili Peppers because I'm not 18. so I can't enter the competition or get into the venue, wherever that may be, it's a secret gig for radio 1 competition winners only.

THIS FUCKING SUCKS.

Not being 18 (or 21 here) sucks...

but when you're over 18 (or 21) it's so good to not be around little kids :D

I think it would be a hell of a lot better and more beneficial if you invested that £600 in Pearl Jam tickets for me and Andy.

It's only 9 days away now. :(

Too scared to go anywhere near them mate, they leant me some money, agreed to it, it hasn;t come through yet, but I'm scared if I bother them they'll stop that out of spite....and a rather dear friend has already advanced some of it to me, so that's a risk I will not take.

there was one thing i learned when i was on the dole, yes i've been there too, although it seems to have been in another former life of mine. i have a few former lives. the thing i learned is that you have to get things sorted with social security.

Okay, lets just say I got tickets to Pearl Jam at Astoria. With the supposed age limit, would they really just flat out reject me and not let me in, even though i had paid for tickets?

just turn up and act confident. if you act like you should be there, they won't hassle you for id. although a call would help too.

Well yeah I am gonna call later on.

But check me out acting like I actually have tickets to the show.

I'm feeling winning some money on Deal Or No Deal to buy them on eBay. :D Fingers crossed.

For anyone who's interested, found out the rules for Astoria:

"Strictly no under 14s. Under 16s are only admitted with an adult. 18s and over only for club nights. Please check specific events for exceptions."

Im not an under 16, im an over, but it says nothing about 16-18 year olds.

So I guess I would be okay getting in.

FUCK THIS.

I've now officially given up on going to see Pearl Jam on the 20th.
