70,000 sell out.

Looks like Mr & Mrs DoN will be joining me, John & Lorraine for a day on the sauce.

Let's try this again, any other Mancy lads fancy meeting up in town for a shandy?

We will be in town fer 3. Usual stop is the Piccadilly Tavern - if it's sunny a day outside the Tavern after raiding the Spa just across the street :D

let us know where you are boozin before the game Shug, I'll pop out for a beer.

Wont be going the game though, I told your John why at the Apollo. Sad situation, but true. Hopefully this game will be a bit more like the old days.

Lou Marcari's testimonial was the best non-competetive game I've been to, Mark Hughes the worst :\ohwell:

This will be my 5th Celtic Man U game. Been to Robson's in 90, Hughes in 94, Giggsy's in 99, World Champs game in Seattle in 03 and now this one, looking forward to it!!! They are always competitive games  3-1 in 90 & 94, then 4-3 for Giggsy, we will forget about Seattle though, 6,000 miles to get gubbed 4-0 :nonono:

What i meant was, there is nothing at stake, eg points , place in a final or a trophy !

Basically an exhibition match to swell the coffers for both clubs, or are the tickets free?

It's on Setanta Sports......but you have to be a subscriber, so if you cannae make the game, you'd better check a few of yer local pubs, I would imagine there will be a few screening this.

Hopefully it's a cracker :D

No way of ordering the individual game from Setanta??

Yeah, you might be able to.

They usually charge £8.99 I think mate. Best idea would be to google Setanta for their website....I'm aff fer a bacon roll or two.

end of.

I dont know any reds that are going.

The game is an indictment of the oppressed wanting to get one over their masters. Sad..sad...sad.

nope.

best player in the last 10 years? maybe in the top 5. But not the best midfielder I've seen at OT. That was Robson.

Fell out with Keane after his prawn sandwich comment. I agreed with him at the time, but the muppets the length and breadth of this country misssed his point and labelled all reds with that comment. So to me he's a gobshite.

He took it to far, no man is bigger than our club. Slagged off his team mates...rubbish captaincy. Keane tried it, Fergie fucked him.

Ruud is taking the same taxi.

Far more discerning crowd at Old Trafford....... we've seen the lot...World Champs...scousers never did that

actually, a far more discerning crowd at a Robbie Williams concert than at Celtic Park :evil4:

C'mon Shug, thats a bit harsh. Just last week they were invited down for a glamour testimonial tie against (aherm) DERBY COUNTY, for one-legged ex-Hun Ted McMinn, a man who felt the need to change his real first name (Kevin) because it was "too Catholic". Prick.

not that I know? :confused2:

nah, my beef is I went to Lou Macaris testimonial in '84...fuckin brilliant.

Went to Robsons..fuckin brilliant....

I'm a manc catholic. Loved Celtic.

we all had a love in......BUT

the last 2..Hughes/Giggs... Celtic started giving it IRA songs. Anti English shite.

FUCK THAT.

I'll leave you to it

oh, and songs about bombing our city.

Friendly? make yer own mind up. I couldnt care less.

I have Robson's, Hughes & Giggsy's testimonials on DVD and I was at all 3 of them as well. I didn't think the chanting was anymore at one than another. ( I will have a flick through them though) I can't condone it, just like you can't condone your fans who sing about Hillsbrough

We have always slagged England, we were giving you lot the Argentina chants long before Gabriel Heinze signed for ye's......and as fer meaningless games, were you at the 1-0 game at Parkhead when you's kicked us off the park a week or two before the Scottish Cup Final

That was the reason there was more of an edge to Giggsy's game

BTW - The Mancy lads my second team. Believe it or not.

I agree with you,not all Ceptic fans are like that but the ones that sing IRA songs ,especially in Manchester after what what happened ten years ago-Scum and lowest of the low :nonono:

Sir Alex Ferguson had words of praise for Roy Keane, who left the Red Devils this year after a bust up with Ferguson. Although the two men had hot tempers,it is not a surprise to hear that Ferguson believes Keane to be one of Manchester’s greatest players ever.“I think over time when they start picking all the best (United) teams, he will be in it,” Ferguson told reporters.“Decades from now I think the (Bryan) Robsons, the Keanes, (Paul) Scholes and Duncan Edwards will always be there.”“People used to say to me, ‘why do you always say Roy Keane was the best player you ever had?’”, said Ferguson.“Do you say he was a better player than Cantona, Scholes or Giggs. Of course he wasn’t as talented as those players, nowhere near it. But without question his obsession with winning, the demands he put on other players and his desire to win football matches made him the most influential player in the dressing-room.“And he became a great captain through that. To my mind he was my best player, taking in all the things.”

Gobshite? The BEST Gobshite, straight from the horse's mouth as they say.

Edit: Seems everyone's covering this story....

woah.. dont get me wrong.

I'm not sensitive to oppostion chants. We've had Munich for years. We give as good as we get.

Just that this is a 'friendly'

plain and simple truth is its only Celtic. If it was a big club maybe I'd go. But it isnt. It'll just be a plastics gathering....not my scene.

if ever the was a time and a place to let off a bomb in manchester......:evil4:

It will only be a 'friendly' if Man Utd win. I had to sing this full voice in a bar full of Cockney Mancs in Seattle when they goaded me to sing a song for them all.

Fergie never had the real Robson. He caught Robson in his boozy days towards the end of his career. But still never had the bottle to get rid of him.

Robson was untouchable. Think about it. Fergie wanted to get rid, but he took the easy option by sacking his drinking buddies (Whiteside & McGrath).

Robson was the man.

Robson was a great player, no question. Different era's so it's nigh on impossible to agree that one's better than the other, but look at how succesful Utd were with Keane as the driving force. I certainly don't remember Utd winning leagues with Robbo.

Well, you only have to look at the quality of players that they played with. Robson MADE a half good team. Keane DROVE quality players.

Dont detract from the original point though Shug. No Red I know is going coz Celtic fans are ****s

Sing about the IRA? Makes me wanna smack some fucka.
