Hell fire, i genuinely thought that some Crows had killed a bulldog! Saw this thread title at the weekend but didn't have time to read it. I nevertheless commenced to tell everybody that a poor dog had been killed by those horrible black birds!

I really need to start getting my facts right :dead:

To save me having to look it up, cos the AFL website is always so slow, how have the Saints got on recently? Crows, crows, crows, I hate them...

It's Ravens you have to watch, they are truly evil. Have you seen The Omen? They'll peck your eyes out just for the hell of it, then fly away laughing.

Quoth the raven.."Nevermore".

They also hold the tower of london up.

Used to live beside some trees which were the local staging area for big crow flocks...crazy scenes every dawn and dusk...pure Hitchcock....actually seen a cat take on a crow several times and be beaten back by a gang of them LOL.

I've seen Alfie stare down a cat, you really don't want to be on the receiving end of that beak.

I don't mind being on the receiving end of some beak, from time to time:uhoh: Especially free beak!

Geez, you have to ask me about the Saints this week! They have been involved in a controversy. On the weekend they played Fremantle and Freo were 1 point ahead when the siren went. Unfortunately, the umpire didn't hear the siren and the game continued and St Kilda scored a point, making it a drawn game. Obviously Freo complained to the AFL about this and rightly so, the decision has been overturned, giving Freo the 4 points.

Here's a link to The Australian newspaper if you're interested.

Hi Fay CTB here - Longtime NOOLer/current lurker/Community2 contestent. :) Sorry to chime in at this point, but there is no way Freo deserve the 4 points for this...unless we disregard trivial things like rules, of course . If the umpire doesn't signal the end of the match, the game isn't over, the siren sounding per se is irrelevant - it's been that way for decades.

Having played a lot of country footy in my youth, these issues occur regularly, particularly in cases where the siren is some bloke honking the horn of his holden ute.

BTW - sorry, Crows are pants CTB :bear:

Hi CTB,

There's been plenty of debate about this but I think the AFL got it right and definitely need to look at changing the rule book. Anyway, we could argue the point until the cows come home but think I'll just agree to disagree :)

So who do you follow? Please don't tell me it's bloody Collingwood

Those Weagles are top at the moment and haven't lost a game.

Wasn't Chris Lewis the one who took a bite out of someone during a game?

God forbid, Fay - I have a massive aversion to Collingwood, can't stand the turds. As you might have guessed, I'm a saints man, so arguments on 'SirenGate' are particularly pointless in my case!

They must be fat crows to crush a bulldog. So fat they can't fly. Sure they weren't penguins?

Maybe it was a pottery bulldog and the two fat crows were really bulls in a china shop.

Maybe it's just an attempt to sour relations between the bird and dog communities by inciting carrion to senselessly slaughter innocent puppies...

More the fact that they think they require special treatment. "..but we're Collingwood!!" So fcuking what, Eddie - everyone else has an away strip!

Don't get me started, Fay. Oh, I see you already have. ;)

Yup, the bloody AFL should have the guts to stand up to him and make them have an away strip - who the bloody hell do they think they are? I'd impose a 4 point deduction if they didn't comply!! :D
