With hindsight what a fantastic game... But at the time... Had to leave the pub for the penalties and rely on the cheers to find out the result - could not watch another minute! Knew that we had to win it in the 90 minutes... But that chance in extra time... We were never going to do it on penalties... The Hammers were terrific though - no fear, determined to play football... Liverpool were great as well, all is forgiven if Gerrard plays like that at the World Cup... If we can play as well in the UEFA next season there should be some Boro-esque nights...

I must be getting too old for this, that was unbearable. I've never seen so many Liverpool players crocked at one time - surely if WH were going to win it, and they could have, it had to be in extra time. That Yossi Benyaoun(?) didn't stop running the whole game and was easily man of the match for me. Thank God they didn't get Cisse to take a penalty! Poor old Ferdinand took it badly at the end though...got to feel sorry for him. Anyway, best final for years
