Bad things about Gigs

Right,

people who dress in white shirts (particualrly the ones with blue lines going down) and jeans should be BANNED from going to gigs. Inspirals in Oldham last night, not only is there the worlds worst ever DJ present, ("Inspirals will be on very shortly, so get your drinks in!" a full 50 minutes before they came onstage, and every three minutes until the gig started) but there were these lads dancing to whatever was on like they were a strange mix of yer gran dancing to Karma Chamaleon and Eddie the Eagle. What twats. Especially the one who said "Is there a band on here tonight?" on his way in.

Next. A special mention to the slut who kept on accusing Alex on groping her, even though he had a drink in each of his hand. Not to mention she was a fucking dog. This caused Alex to move, and because he moved, as soon as there was a crowd surge this girl fell on her arse and started crying. Of course, as a result of this, Cath, Nick the Taxi Driver and myself had to listen to this story over and over again.

on a related note, Teenage girls should be BANNED from going to any proper gigs. They all hang around down the front, and as soon as it starts, they cant cope and cause inconvenience for everyone by having to push there way out and be carried out, usually kicking someone in the face. So far this year this has happenned at Manc V Cancer, The Ordinary Boys, Upteen Morrissey gigs, two Foo fighters Gigs, Editors and no doubt a few more. A right royal pain in the arse.

Security at gigs can fuck off as well. 90% of the time these people are just being complete CUNTS. At least the ones last night realised they were in a losing battle and gave up after two songs.

Anyone else who has similar experience should post here.

Oh yeah, and those goths who hang around gigs and just stand there looking glum (you know who you are) should fuck off, take that eyeliner off and get a haircut.

When you lose a shoe in the throng, and wait behind until the place clears and there are 7 shoes on the floor and not one of them is yours,is pretty shite.

Or when you drop a gurner on the floor, like I did at a Charlatans gig at Newcastle Mayfair when I was much younger, and scramble round at people's feet with a lighter looking for it...Also,lack of clean breathable air in a tightly packed moshpit, that forces you to take breaks from said moshpit!

Sticky gunky floors that make a huge sucking/ripping noise when you lift your foot up a tiny bit - they really piss me off - like trying to dance/bob/mosh/etc on fucking treacle.

Blokes who dance holding their ciggies aloft - and yes, sooner or later someone is going to get their eyeball singed. Stupid inconsiderate twats!

No ventilation when the temperature rises - another thing I can't stand.

Come to think of it most gig environments are really serious disaster zones waiting to happen. Lots of times I've done them in the past everyone has to squeeze through just one exit to get out. Not good. There has to be a new compulsory law / health and safety legislation governing this in the future but I doubt it will happen until a terrible tragedy unfolds first. :uhoh: :nonono:

More casual misogyny there than in any other single post of yours, Liam. Quite an achievement.

Do you think maybe it's just that your getting too old and sensible for it now?

You're just about to watch yer favourite band then someone in front of you unveils a great big fcuk-off Cross of St George with MORRISSEY tippexed across it! :uhoh:

Bad things about gigs:

  1. When they're on during the week. Don't venues and organisers realise most of us have jobs to go to in the morning? IMO, all gigs should be on Fridays and Saturdays.
  2. The fact that tickets always sell out so quickly.
  3. Having to leave early.
  4. Gig Bitches (i.e. people who've come purely to slag off the band). I've seen these people at gigs before and they really piss me off. Why come to see a band you don't like and then sit and slate them? What's the point?

Yeah, i can't understand why they do gigs on a school night. The audience would be much better if they felt they could have a few drinks with no work the day after.

I hate people who invade your space. Alright it's crammed at the front, but even at the back, i always seem to get some really tall bloke come stand right in front of me.

Moody women who tick you off for invading their space!

Jarvo's elbows. Gary Mac and Our Kid trying to Stage Dive in reverse. Gary Mac and Our Kid going topless. All these half wits with them Hawaiin T-Shirts. People in shorts. People who cannae sing who sing along to every word whilst jumping up and down all over the place. Tall people. People who wear sunglasses inside. Sweaty People. Too many people at the front meaning I can't even reach into me pocket for a fag. Too many people at the front meaning I spill beer being held in both hands. Celebrity fans who are miserable cunts when you say hello. People who don't say Thanks when you've just picked them up from the floor and Liam.

Tripping up over all the short people down the front.

Only you would make Shug look tall Hicksy.

(did you find a working net elsewhere mate or actually remember any of my sage wisdom? LOL...dunno why I'm even asking now I read it).

Worst thing about gigs now that I am an old unhealthy wanker is the lack of ventilation, not only does this caue insane temperatures, but n000 heaving bawling toe-rags reduces the available oxygen far too much. If you can hump 30KW of PA round the country you can put a coupla fuckin huge fans in the truck :D

Oh, and fog machines, much as I totally believe that all anyone needs is 3 fogs and a strobe....the fog oil is DEATH to vocal chords, sing along to the band in a cloud of it and next day you are croaking....even seen it hit Barney a few times, like he needs encouragement to split notes.

That was a standing gig.

You've reinforced the idea that you haven't got a clue about what you're talking about. Like when you said Killing Joke are a goth band.

So all this time and all this Goth boy crap is just nonsense then? Apologies if we have all assumed then that you are indeed a Goth and that you walk around in a Matrix style type world. I take it that your musical tastes are far more varied and that you ....

  1. Do not wear make up,
  2. Do not possess a black long leather coat,
  3. Do not have piercings (other than ears)
  4. Do not wear stupid built up shoes (that those who are old enough to remember will know as blocker boots!!) and
  5. Do not hang around with clones in a shopping arcade?

If you can answer no to all of these, you may be in with a chance

I shagged a goth once :thumb:

I like everything about gigs.

I especially like feeling really hot (I kept my coat on at the front in Brixton academy).

I was just about to say...SEATED GIGS.Beat me to it.Last seated gig was HUMAN LEAGUE at the Apollo. SEATED? It was though everyone who used to have a lopsided hairdo had lost the use of their bloody legs. Suzanne shouted out"So you're not watching Hear'Say tonight then..you've come to watch a proper band!" Followed by seconds later Joanne completely singing out of tune.BLESS!

I swear (a lot) NO SHIT,some tart came roung the stalls serving ice-cream and fcuking Kia-Ora!

My other gripe is tickets always come on sale when most fans are at work and can't get to phone, leaving cnuts who buy them up to sell them on E-Bay.

I think this is a classy thread. Very entertaining but a bit harsh on each other.

Right, gigs. People who bring FUCKING BLANKETS DOWN THE FRONT and lay them down as their zones at open air gigs. Complete cunts. That really fucks me off.

Segragated standing at open air gigs that stops you getting down the front.ie golden circle shit. That completely fucks me off!

People behind you who are fucking tiny who whinge "I can't see...." Well FUCK OFF THEN!

People at the front of the barrier on the barrier who won't LET YOU GET TO THE FUCKING BARRIER with their stupid fucking elbows!

And oh those cunts who say hello to everyone and leave the pub early to get into the venue to get right to the very front 3 hours before New Order come onstage.

Ah. I see a problem with that last one. Shit. :bag:

the golden circle as a concept has to be the worst thing ever introduced to the proper fan of a band

Stand and deliver!

I'm interrupting this thread to tell you that I am now going to get drunk in the sun with a man called Bob.

 :sun: :bob:

I know this isn't relevant or interesting to any of you, but I'm telling you anyway because I'm happy about it.

Maybe you could find the time to be happy for me.

:happyforbiggy:

I will re-interrupt this thread to let you know how it went later, if I am able to do so.

Have fun.

I'll further hijack it by saying I've already fucked up 3 people's trips to Roskilde (on account of them being retards) in the last 2 days, and that i REALLY do not want to hear from ANYONE from this site n the next couple of days, I never want to have to say "no you are NOT going to see NO cos you are a fucking retard who can't do something as simple as look at the date on their passport."
