Never saw any of Ecclestone's Doctor shows, but the ones I've seen in this series have been rather good.

Saturday's face-off between the Daleks and Cybermen was one of the funniest/smartest things I've seen on telly in aeons.
When they declared war on one another and the dalek asked how many the cybermen numbered.
Five million.
And then in return, how many the daleks had?
Flat as you like, the dalek just went four ... then went on to proclaim that a solitary dalek could still 'ave five million cybermen. Quality.

I think the Daleks are one of those creations that almost write themselves. They're just toe-rags, seems you had a few of them in security shirts the other night.
In addition to the "we'll take you with one dalek mate" speech,I rather liked "this is not a war, this is pest control".
Make the episode "dalek" the first Eccleston you watch. 
Must confess, as a sad old Whovian, their return with "doc....tor? THEEEEEE DOCTORRRRR????????????????? Exterminate!!!!" was one of those moments that leaves you thinking, "I can die happy now" :) The knowledge that a whole new generation of sprogs will be shitting themselves bout daleks just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Besides, that's the beauty of Dr who, totally honest science combined with complete driel, it's perfect :D
I had a nightmare about Dr Who last night; a proper one, with Tom Baker in it and everything.
Tom Baker was the sidekick. He had massive tits and a big scarf. The Doctor himself was the really shit one with the stupid face that came after Baker. In my dream the Tom Baker girl said that she was sorry about Billie Piper as she knew how much she meant to me. I woke up feeling very sad.
I have now seen the last episode of the current series(think I missed 2 episodes).She did'nt die
Must agree that 4 daleks can ave 5 million Cybermen was a quality moment...
David Tennent is pretty good as the Doctor I think now.I did'nt at first, but warmed to him and think he's pretty good now.
I thought Rose Tyler was ok too,unlike many.. guess I'm easily pleased....Though I would'nt wear them on my underpants or anything,you understand
I am secretly happy she didn't get Exterminated in the end. She looked really pretty in the last couple of episodes with the fake tan and at least 8 of the coats of make up removed. Her "I killed the God of all Daleks" speech was kinda cool ( not that those four would have had a clue what she was on about, the emperror flipping out only after they left).
I objected to, and still do objetct to the BBC Marketting droids saying " we need 17.437% love interest, let's make this children's hero a child molester". And I object to "rose saves the day" being so much the order of the day in these 2 series.
And as for DT. I knew he'd be good, he's a major who fan. He has been let down by some awful scripts this series tho.... I mean,....."Rise of the cybermen" and "Age of steel" were just bits of old easenders scripts pasted together and with a few extras in cybermen suits in the background.
Been listening to a couple of BBC audiobooks of the new Doc, read by Tennant, he's really funny, switching between his own voice, the Dr's, Roses's, Mickey's Jackie's ( which is amazingly accurate) and all sorts of slimey nastinessess' voices.
Billie Piper is 22 tho Cambo. Where is the child molester theme you are on about,considering she is 22?

Don't think I did until the episode where she tried to pull the fella who was spying for Peter Kay. Then she got rather saucy and suggestive.

Did anyone ever see the Gay Daleks on Victor Lewis-Smith's TV Offal show in the late nineties?
Quality stuff, they wandered around with handbags hanging off their plungers and ended each sketch with one of them spraying "white wee-wee" all over the place 
Probably the most controversial of TV Offal's regular features is the Gay Daleks: "They're camp! They exterminate! Better watch your backs! It's the Gay Daleks!" You either feel that the sketches are crude, tasteless and offensive, or they're a splendid parody of both the Daleks and of gay cultural stereotypes; late night Channel 4 viewers (on the whole) would interpret them as the latter which is probably just as well given the content. Apparently they were popular with the gay community, though later attempts to produce a cartoon series based on the Gay Daleks did not materialise due to a a lack of consent from the Terry Nation estate. As for the paedo Doc.....on Gallifrey Billie would still be in nappies. Him doing her is like fat business men from here going to some far away land where the age of consent is 9 to mess with kiddies.
Regardless of that, I just don't think there is much place for it in Dr Who, or, frankly in any sci-fi show. They can do soap plots in Sci Fi when I see Daleks down the Vic and Silurians in the Rovers' not before
PS. not had a Doctor nightmare since I was a wee-un, but I can still guarantee a War of the Worlds one at least once a year, usually retold around these parts, but often varying greatly in story detail. Oddly in the dreams I usually always know "it's OK the martians will start to rot in their machines soon".

It's a LONG tradition. Dity Den is a mercenary in Ressurection of the Daleks, back in like 83. And Corrie too, Gail tilsley ( SP?) is in The Ambassador's of Death way back in the days of Jon "tall lightbulb" Pertwee.....as one example that floats too mind.
Were Gail Tilsley and John Pertwee ever immortalised in cotton Y-front form? I'm not so sure

Steve - did you ever write letters to Dr Who Weekly in the late 70's/early 80's?
I stopped watching the show when PD came in to it, had quick looks at Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and thought it couldn't get worse. When the new stuff started I couldn't believe it was the same show - it knocks the nuts off anything that went before (except perhaps Patrick Troughton trying to play the recorder).
And when are we seeing you again mate?

I more or less ignored PD CB and SM too.
BUT having gone BACK to those episodes, I adore many of them, funny that. A prime example is "happiness patrol" which has bertie fucking basset in it, and I HATED it, on rewatching it recently I realised it was actually a brilliant story.
Sly McCoy has become one of my very fave Dr's based on things like that and the Big Finiah Audio plays.

Was far more pissed off about whatever fuckwitt let "i'm half human" into the script.
Mcgann was sold short, he's an amazing Doc in the audio plays.
