Liverpool Land Pennant

Hopefully he can put over a few more crosses for Xavi Alonso to poke into the net.

At the right end next season please, Xavi.

Good player, though i'm surprised they never pushed the boat out for Duff. You've acquired a pair of feisty characters in Pennant and Bellamy.

he's done plenty of poking alright....

up Ashley Cole

Dont think he's quite justified the tag he had at Notts County, but who knows?

It all begins to make sense now. The bastards were in training for Pennant's arrival.

Well Plan A was Simao Sabrosa from Benfica wasn't it? That must have fallen through. Gerrard was saying maybe one more big name to come still, hope he didn't mean Pennant..

He's still got that tag ain't he? On his ankle? Fooked if I'd spend that sort of money on him. It'll be pissed up the wall before too long. Hope they've got a lock on the dressing room door as well!

buying Pennant at least leaves us with a few bob to go out and buy Ruud Va...sorry Dirk Kuyt.

how did we STEAL Bellamy for such a low fee? can't wait to watch him. Why did Man Yoo not come in for Bellamy?

Do any Liverpool fans think Bell(end)amy is gonna fit in at Anfield? I always thought he wasnt much of a team player. Liverpool (i hate myself for saying this),are re-establishing themselves as one of the best teams in europe because they work as a team and have a really passion to play together.

Everyone i know, (i don't live far from the ground) is very excited about Bellamy. Nothing negative at all. Liverpool fans always stick up for the new guy, no matter what. And its the pace factor. We just didn't have it up front last year. We all know he's a good player. Plays with his heart, but sometimes not with his head. I know he will defo score a lot of goals for us, and will become a cult hero from the off. He scored a stunner for Blackburn last season. one of the goals of the season. He'll fit in, no danger.

He supports Liverpool, so if he can't make it at Anfield, he never will.

Also look for Zenden to do something this year. Mr Versatile. never stops running. like Bellamy.

A few raised eyebrows this side of the east lancs with that one. I rate him highly, and at that price it isnt much of a gamble either, if he acts up ship him on for a profit.

True, but at that price worth a punt.

I see Bellamy as the replacement for Michael Owen to be honest. Cisse didn't really do the job to be fair. I think Bellamy and Crouch will do well up front this season :thumb:

i hope its Bellamy/Fowler

or Bellamy/new guy.

Crouch just doesn't score enough. simple.

We already have Zenden, Kewell and Gonzalez on the left. I know Duff's played on the right but I think we're trying to get away from playing people out of position, plus I doubt Chelsea would have sold him to us without a fight.

I'd have to go for Crouch and Bellend. Bells and Fowler are very similar in that the way they make clever runs and can finish. Peter Crouch doesn't score a lot of goals but holds the ball up very well. Bellamy and Fowler wouldn't really work, a bit like the Owen & Fowler didn't click a few seasons ago.

Trouble with Bellamy is that he is an arrogant cock who thinks he owns the world. Nobody in the game has a decent word to say for him as a character, he's a mare in the dressing room, a real trouble causer.

Who told you? Alan Shearer? I disliked him before, based on the Souness/Shearer thing. But he never caused grief at Coventry. He's a top player and we got him for buttons. woo hoo!! He's also at a proper big club now. Surrounded by better players. He'll be alright now.

(as long as he stays away from Cardiff Nightclubs)

not sure about Pennant though. never rated him. we'll soon see.

Not as good as the 1989 goal against you though, hey?:evil4:

The biggest factor that Paisley & Fagan used to look for when signing new players, above all other details and apsects, was, is he a winner?

I think Bellamy is a winner, and will bring an extra urgency and dimension to our attack.

Are Jermaine Pennant and Kieran Richardson the same person :confused2:

A mate reckoned he saw Richardson robbing meat from the Co-op a few years back

All the great sides have players with a nasty side. We have Souness who would either out pass you or kill you, then United had Keane, Arsenal had Viera (and that dirty bastard Bergkamp who was also quality) so I have no problem with so called bad boys.

Rafa will channel their agression in the right way or ship em out.

Bellamy's signing will prove to be a masterstroke by Benitez. If they can sign Kuyt to play alongside him they'll take some beating. Liverpool are shaping up to be a very exciting attack minded squad now with Gonzalez, Kewell, Zenden and Pennant on the flanks and Gerrard, Alonso and Garcia through the middle. Don't think they'll win the league but i think they'll run Chelsea closest.
