Are the Bee Gees collecting royalties on it?

If not, they fcuking should be.

Points for originality? -4/10

I think it's more Leo Sayer than Bee Gees, but you have to admit what they're doing is a lot more punk than three chord rock!

They're ace live, easily one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

Thought it was more Elton than Bee Gees.

I can take or leave the Scissor Sisters really; some decent pop tunes in there but the over-the-top campathon becomes tiresome after a remarkably short while.

Nothing wrong with giving your musical heroes a nod in your songwriting but that track has nothing unique or original about it at all. Just staggering they got away with such a blatant rip off.

Chris, their Elton John pastiches were on the first album! :uhoh:

ELTON plays piano on the new single.I love it me,liked them at LIVE 8,just a shame they got to do 3 songs to Mariah Carey's 6.

I too think it sounds like 70s Elton. I can't stand it anymore. I turn the radio off every time it comes on.

Ya... I even went to see them live, thankfully accompanied by a lady. They were actually quite good.

Leo Sayer should be suing.

Which song is the single?

Also, I like Scissor Sisters... in very limited doses, though... when I'm in the mood for gaytastic gay music... which sometimes I am.

Not all the time, though.

Jem. Want to stay on fence so I don't fall into aforementioned pile of turd:lol:

I am really disappointed with it to be honest. Loved the first album and I hope this single is just an embarrassing filler on the new one because that's it's level. I just don't think they have put much effort into it. Tres bland and unoriginal relative to 1st album.

Oh bollocks! Just thought. It's got trademarks of getting the embarrassing dancer mams, dads, aunties and uncles on the dancefloor at Weddings hasn't it?

Please no:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I was going to take the family along to incorperate abit of a break away for them aswell, but I took them there for a weekend a couple of weeks ago instead..So now I am free to get monkfished and stop over doing my own thing without them, which is a canny result:nod: Tho I have an offer to stay in Manchester after the gig with a friend, its still about 40 miles away.Undecided....Anyway,I'm off to empty some bookie's satchels with some internet betting for now, hopefully:thumb:

What? Are the Scizzor Sissterzzzz still together and about to torment the rest of mankind with a SECOND album? Fuck me, I thought these useless one album flash in the pans* were already red carded for their non-services to the musik industry....and also playing a major part in one of New Order's suckiest records ever.

* and on that note some of us should include The Killers too. Their new image is fucking hilarious.

I dare somebody to disagree that their new single isn't a horrible near-abortion attempt at fusing U2 and Meat Loaf. It's like chucking cat shit and dog shit into a blender.

Brandon Flowers is a Mormon.... sorry, I mean a moron :p

I can't hear any U2 in it, but the guitar endings are very clearly Bruce Springsteen 'Born to Run', theres a Meatloaf solo vocal bit, and I reckon I can hear some ELO type strings in the pot too.

Burt Reynolds wrote: I can't here any U2 in it

His vocal style, the casual references to Jesus etc. all very Paul Hewson to these ears. The rumbling bassline and keyboards remind me of a standard issue U2 anthem as well; they were on tour with them for a bit weren't they?

What is that ridiculous 'tache Flowers is trying to grow as well? It's the sort of thing an underage teenager would find himself with after 6 months solid growth to get into the local boozer!

Have you noticed all the Killers lyrics are absolute bollocks too?

e.g. 'I got soul but I'm not a soldier'

'somebody told me, you had a boyfriend, that looked like a girlfriend, that i had in February of last year'

'he doesnt look a thing like Jesus, but he talks like a gentlemen'

:wtf:

I just think The Killers are fcuking gash full stop mate. I'm devastated I'm going to be hearing nothing but their shitey singles on the radio for the next 12 months, or however long they manage to squeeze singles out of this new album

I'd rather hear the "real" Killers from the Crystal video try their hand at an album.

Especially that blonde bird who was the backing singer :food:

Speaking of Bono, and pretentious assholes, I heard a quote from Brandon on the radio the other day. It read something like:

'When people asked me what I thought of the first album, I said, its by far the best music i would want to hear, at the time. When they ask me about the new album, it is quite simply one of the greatest albums of the last 25 years.'

wanker!

Wa-heyy!! :D :thumb:

A few others here who despise the Killers as much as I do - and interesting Ally mentions Brandon Flowers's vocal comparisons to Meat Loaf and Bongo - that just PROVES one thing: without even hearing their new single (consider me privileged and blessed!) I already have ample confirmation that he hasn't suppressed his FOGHORN tendencies!!!:rofl:

I mean - as for that image change... I mean.... Look at this....

This was the Killers Mk I (dubious as it is)

:abovelol:

....And here are the new improved Killers Mk II

Who the fuck are they trying to impress???

Who's taking bets on what their next change of image is going to be, folks?

Imagine a Scissor Sisters/Killers team up?

*shudders.

That's a horrible prospect indeed, but I seriously doubt it would happen - because for the Scizzor Sizzterzz to get heard above THAT fucking foghorn Flowers, they'd need to ensure that their falsetto vocals were multi-tracked about 50 times louder than normal - and then the mixing desk would probably explode from the sheer exertion of having to compete with all those vocal tracks on overload - thus making the whole exercise completely futile!

If the Killers' new single is any indication, Flowers better start eating his words now. It's ASS! Of course, the teenyboppers will eat it up with a spatula. Apparently trying to channel Bruce Springsteen (gag!) isn't the best formula for an album.

and the swizzle sisters new single is craptastic too.
