my next door neighbors apartment caught on fire about 4 hours ago. Luckliy we didn't get any damage on our wall/apartment...The fire was unable to burn for very long due to the lack of oxygen, basically extinguishing itself.
We had no idea that his place was on fire because no smoke came through our walls. Anyway, can't go into much of anything else....saw the apartment, a lot of smoke damage of course....I pointed to his guitar by the door and said " that right there just breaks my heart!".....
nobody was home at the time....no one hurt, stuff is all gone though :(
Chap who taught me bass while I was at college ( read as: "tried to un-teach all my bad habbits, and failed"). Had a bomb go off in the doorway of the house his flat was in. House caught fire, and a fireman appeared at his bedroom window, complete with extending ladder and all. Fireman, has him half into the gondola, when he LEAPS back in through his window...returning to the gondola with his bass.
Good man.
Yeah he coulda died, so what, what's life without a bass.
(it was a heavily customised Fender Jazz fretless, and possible the only Fender I have ever coveted)
