The Worst...

Just to liven things up here, thought I'd invent a new way of annoying everyone with pointless posts.

Every magazine around this time of year seems to do a "best of" list, usually pertaining to the year that's just about to be over (but isn't unless Andy Rooney emerges on Christmas Day a new man, full of joy and life and no longer a cranky old geezer). And usually these lists are shit (either it's the same damn movies that are always on every pretentious hack's best of all time list or something modern thrown in to appeal to the urban market, like Rudy Ray Moore's Disco Godfather).

But surely there must be a need for a "worst of" list? :D

So list the following, whether to warn off your fellow NOOLers of them or just to vent your spleen at the time you wasted on them:

Worst movie you ever saw all the way through?

Worst book you ever read all the way through? (because picking one that you gave up on is just cheating yourself out of the ludicrous ending when it turns out to have all been in Ed Norton's head :p )

Worst album you ever heard?

Worst song?

Worst painting?

Worst waste of your time? (of the categories above, or something different)

Have fun with it :thumb:

Worst film all the way through?

Vanity Fair. 141 minutes of hell

Worst Song: Joni Mitchell - Big Yellow Taxi

They paved paradise to put up a parking lot but failed to pave over Mitchell herself which is probably more unacceptable than ruining a bit of countryside. That song irritates the fucking shite out of me to put it mildly and I frequently throw the radio across the room when it comes on.

Other than that I'm a completely well balanced human being :uhoh:

Worst Film: Every. Single. Christmas. Movie. Ever.

Worst Waste Of My Time: It's got to be this website

He may have done, although if it was, it was during the time i was *ahem* pre occupied.

Go on, I'll bite.

What (or whom) was keeping you occupied?

In fact don't answer, we'll all guess.

My guess is that you got tangled up in your new Boz flag.

That actually did happen, but it was early on in the set when i was trying to wave it.

The new flag is the greatest thing ever.

That is without doubt my most hated. Then Ronan Bleating covered it. :nonono:

Worst Film: Anything with Steven Seagal in.

Worst Waste Of My Time: Dunno really. Probably housework.

Next gig I'm standing at the side, far too many roaming hands in the front rows at Morrissey shows for my liking. That is, when you're standing in front of dodgy "well built" burds with big yellow rings around their eyes when the lights go up.

That's how I like my women :thumb: lethargic and liver diseased!

Morrissey beckoned Liam onto the stage and they sang a National Front Disco duet followed by I Got You Babe.

Liam sang Cher's part in case you're wondering.

He was really good, I think he's got a future in singing.

Morrissey, that is.

No its true.

Morrissey let me do the "England for the English! England for the English! bit.

It was great.

Worst movie you ever saw all the way through? That one that was supposed to be funny with De Niro, can't remember what it was called but the only mildly amusing bit was when he fell out of a tree right at the end.

Worst book you ever read all the way through? If I don't like a book, why would I read it to the end?

Worst album you ever heard? The International by Billy Bragg.

Worst song? Anything by Simply Red, Lighthouse Family, Michael Bolton, Erasure, Roxette and Sean Paul.

Worst painting? Mona Fucking Lisa.

Worst waste of your time? My Job.

Worst Movie - Random Hearts, undoubtedly, followed closely by Buck Rogers (the one with the Queen song)

Worst book - The Corrections, an overrated piece of "literary" pretentious bullshit crap

Worst album - Gonna have to think about that one, because a lot of the really bad albums I had the misfortune to buy were gotten rid of ages ago. But of the ones I have, the Coral's self-titled has to take the lead. Two good songs surrounded by about twelve shit ones.

Worst song - White Christmas :banghead:

Worst waste of my time - my brief time as Woody Allen's stunt double :p

Uptown Girls...one of the worst movies I've seen in years. Close second...Meet the Fockers.

dunno how I made it through L'Aventurra......but I have no desire to repeat the experience.

The fifteen minutes I caught of Coyote Ugly on ABC the other day made me glad I didn't see the rest.

Oh, I know, the Sgt. Pepper's Movie with the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton. IFC ran it earlier this year. Totally and utterly lame, I wound up watching the whole thing to see if it would get any better, and the ending and "grand finale" were both truly wretched.

The Star Wars Holiday Special :barf:

Insert that as my worst waste of time (even if it was balls-to-the-walls hilarious)

Somehow I'm separated from the modern pop music and it's hard to name even a band I would detest.

The same applies to books (the most recently written book I read was 'Revenge' by Stephen Fry and it was published in 1999 I believe).

Movies? I also have a tendency towards watching movies a long time after they are released. The worst movie must be a Scorsese one.

Hahah, my friend actually owns that. She says that the cast got trashed on vodka in order to get through the filming process. Judging from this, it's easy to believe. "Happy Life-Day!"

It might even be worse than Manos: the Hands of Fate. Manos is bad, but at least it's entertaining all the way through!

Worst book: The Phantom of Manhattan (i.e. "sequel" to The Phantom of the Opera). I read it for a piss-take as recommended by a friend, not out of genuine interest in the whole Phantom premise (which I've never understood all the fuss about). And it is pretty funny--the Phantom builds an opera house and partners up with Oscar Hammerstein? A kid has conversations with the god of money while smoking hashish? Uh-huh.

I don't like that Joni Mitchell song either. And that cliche in the damn song. This is going to sound a bit mean but she reminds me of a squirrel, an overgrown squirrel with a guitar. Anyway,

worst film(s): blue chips, titanic, and any hollywood budgeted overdone war film (that has guns constantly going off well, dur its a war film, whatdya expect but still...).

waste of time: worrying about the nonsense of others projected toward me and not finishing things that i should have finished instead of wasting time.

worst website(S):saddle-creek.com,myspace.com,facebook.com
