Ingredients and everything...............

  1. Manhattan - 2 1/2 parts Bourbon, twist of oranmge, 3/4 sweet vermouth(my pref) and a maraschino cherry, no ice, but chilled glass. Yum.

  2. Black Russian. 1 part Kahlua (or Tia Maria for the cheapskates); to 2 parts Vodka dash of Lime, no ice again,, chilled glass. (For the weak willed, topped up with cola for a long drink)

  3. Harvey Wallbanger. 1 dash vodka, 1 dash Galliano, 4 parts orange juice (float the galliano on top).

Yum yum yum.

  1. 2 paracetamol and a lot of water.

Long Island Iced Tea - equal parts vodka, rum, gin, tequila, triple sec, sour mix, in a tall glass. Splash of coke for color. Slice of lemon. Difficult to get exactly right ("equal parts" is more a suggestion than a rule), but when you do, it's smooth and knocks you flat out.

Caribou Lou - equal parts pineapple juice, Malibu coconut rum, and Bacardi 151. Cherry garnish. Again, knocks you right out.

Texas Margarita - no idea (tequila + stuff in a salted glass), but the Grand Marnier topper is essential. Very tasty.

Bonus mention - a souvenir from Brazil:

Caipirinha - whole lime sliced into quarters, spoonful of sugar, ice, cachaça in a short glass. Two of these will do the job. Also available in Caipivodka and Caipirissima varieties (substitute vodka or rum for cachaça).

1)Margarita - Lime Juice, Cuervo 1800 (or another "good tequilla"), Grand Marnier, Rock salt on the rim. On the rocks. A real margarita. No girly margarita mix, no frozen drinks. Real yummy tho.

  1. Black Russian -- the american version like Kath said above. I ordered one in the UK once and I almost puked at the "Do you want Coke or Guiness in that?" (white russians if I'm feeling girly--a black russian with creme)

  2. Midori Sour -- Midori Liquor, Maraschino cherry juice, lemon juice, and 2 cherries. Again, I like making it by hand rather than using sweet and sour mix--but there are good sweet and sour mixes around (not like margarita mix which I've not found one I really like yet).

Mostly tho, I drink mixed drinks not cocktails. Vodka Orange, Vodka Grapefruit, Vokda Orange Lucazade (YUMMMMMM)

I used to drink Long Island Ice Teas by the pint when I was younger. I still could but I lost the taste for them.

Yeah I don't do the girly frozen margaritas either. However, the margaritas at El Carizo, local Mexican restaurant, are friggin fantastic, and I'm thinking they use some sort of mix.

And I don't typically do cocktails either. If I'm doing liquor it's usually a Captain and coke, or sometimes a gin and tonic. I'm not a big fan of vodka.
