It's still, broadly a fender copy, but at least it's a rip off of a Jazz bass not a precision. So it should be a bit less bulbous, the 2 straight pickups sound funkier than the P-bass style 1 straight and 1 split.

Peavey guitars are annoyingly well built for the price, so it shouldn't sound awful like the Encore would have. Peavey bass amps, even practice ones, are fucking amazing.

When push comes to shove, a fat necked bass can be useful to learn on, as it will stretch her mitts :D

When she plays something lighter she'll cack her pants :D

BTW, does she have her own PC?

PS, when I was in the bass centre I noticed a rack of those, so they MUSt be OK.

PPS, if there's a local music shop get her a set of elites in the lightest guage they have. Or get her them for her birthday, they'll make a ddifference, slinky fuckers. Think the Hookmeister even uses them on his standard basses.

And I got myself this, while attending NO-octobermessed.

Bass Collection Speakeasy. 3 and a half hundred by the tie it got to my door. A LOVELY bass, but it's only now I am strting to adjust to the different string spacing. The active circuit is a dangerous thing in my hands.
