Southern Cal was cold this morning. The sprinklers for my lawn left their normal flow on the driveway, but this time it froze (but still looking like water). Slipped and fell hard on my back this morning.....think I have a bit of whiplash as my neck kills....but on a good note, kept any coffee from spilling 
Lots of freezing rain for us this morning, I knew it was gonna be bad when I heard that chains or studded tires are required to drive in the metro area.
Interesting that none of the forecasts I'd seen had called for anything close to the amount of snow and ice we got today 
The good news is that I don't have to get up at 2:30 tomorrow morning to drive around Portland for work, I can sleep in till 6 a.m. Time to crack a 
we've got the smallest bit of ice and snow on the ground here in Austin, and the whole frigging city is shut down...plus, they've already shut down most of it tomorrow...
oh well, nice to have a weekend in the middle of the week...

Yeah, rain forecast for today. I called my boss to tell him i was coming over to his place, he asked "How are you going to get here"?
I had no idea what he actually meant by that question, until i went outside. Took a moment for the snow-covered streets to sink in....

Portland still shut down today. This city just doesn't do snow. In New York (state), the roads would have been cleared before everybody got up to go to work. Here, they just wait for the snow to melt. 
Had to run a gauntlet of snowball fights between the kids (i.e., those between 21 and "middle age") on my way home from the cafe last night. At least the kids know what to do with snow. 
nothing but freezing rain and sleet here....old man winter,jack frost is mad as hell and he isn't going to take it anymore...

there are no seasons in Colombia, so we don´t have those problems. Nowadays the wheather is hot during the days, but at night is cold .

Yep, Three days off was verrrrry nice-ah. I had to go back to work today, but my husband had today off, the slacker.....
When I went by HEB after work today, I heard "Perfect Kiss"- the long version! - in the store while I was shopping. Took the sting away a bit....

It's blowing a bloody gale here as well. I had planned to go home early today, but I can't because they (the management) have decided to escort us off the premises in one big line of cars in the hope of protecting us from flying bits (it's an old chemical plant) WTF How they hope to stop any debris from hitting anyone, is beyond me. The gate won't be opened now until 16.15 
I had the morning off work to attend a funeral. When we were inside the church we were blinded by the sunlight streaming in, even though it was overcast and stormy outside. Everybody commented on it afterwards (R.I.P. Nina

Leaving the wake after lunch we had to change direction twice due to storms blowing trees down and blocking roads. We drove past a BMW that had crashed after a fascia board went through the wind screen, apparently the driver was injured but will be ok.
On a happier note, we all got sent home from work early due to the severity of the storms.
I walked upstairs to my flat with a 1.5 litre of Pepsi before and was sweating like a f***er. It was so hot I had to adjust the thermostat on my aircon to 24 degrees C can you believe it. Mind you after ten minutes I was freezing so I turned it back up to 30 again. I do miss Bolton sometimes.
