Spot on, no impact at all on home machines, unless you count your AV running an hour late. And if you have auto-updates on (and the pox be upon you if you do), it'll be fixed already, if not, you need to run windows update manually....when it sees your locale as USA it'll patch you up a treat.
Ron, you are still missing the point mate......OK, so YOU don't get paid this month, OK, wait a month while your employer pockets your interest and get it sorted in 4 weeks time. BUT, suppose your company's 100,000 staff ALL got fucked....big headaches, people, unable to get to work, dying due to lack of meds, ending up in vast bank debt for bounced charges.
And worse, at the other end of things, you might get charged twice for all your direct debits. Surely you can see that this could cost business a pile of cash and a load of stress. And fuck me, it aint even Gates' fault this time (always pisses me off when Bill DIDN'T actually do it...on those rare occassions when that is the case).

After 01/01/00 [1], and after sod all happened.....people in the scamming industry (you know the ones who charged £10 to stick a y2k sticker on a monitor...a device with no conception of date) said "behold, all the millions you gave us, have worked, we have saved mankind, cos nothing has happened".....the thing is, many countries, Eg, Italy, spent exactly fuck all on y2k scams.....and hundreds were killed as air traffic control and railway network management systems went insane....no...hang on....no, that's right....fuck all happened there as well. 
I was out on "moron's millenium eve", and left my atari on....imagine the look on the face of the young lady I had pulled when we got back to my place and I started dancing round clapping my hands and yelling "fuck you PC shite....15 years old and could STILL handle the date change".
BTW, a REALLY serious one, that will be fixable, but hard to do so.....will be when the Unix Date reaches (I think) 2^32s from the dawn of the unix era (all unix machines measure time from this point....01/01/1970, and any time it may tell you is just a dumbed down translation for your benefit :D).....you may not THINK you use Linux, or BSD, or HPux or OSx or ANY unix....but you do, 100% guarauntee that there are quite a few silent, hardworking unix boxen sitting between you and this post.....how can you tell...easy....if the internet ran on windows it would need rebooted every 15 mins and could only support 100 users.
