hmm, I never viewed the order as a "lad's band"... my female pals in college all seemed to like the order as well...

Just for the hell of it, I'm adding my American two cents.

For one, I'm intelligent. Naturally. [Which shows that I don't fall under the 80% radar in that manner.] Sure I can end up lacking some sort of sufficient wording, but I can speak my mind, and speak it well, without fighting a damn dictionary or thesaurus. Or a college textbook, or a professor, or something to that extent, for that matter.

And two, being erotic has its time and place. Here is a place that does NOT fall in that catagory in my humble opinion. Sure I'll get a laugh at some of the things being said by others here but, rarely does something erotic pass through my common mind whenever New Order is concerned. [Again, proof that I don't fall in that 80% radar.]

I hope I have explained myself well. In the meantime, back to watching that Joy Division/Missy Elliot 'Love Will Freak Us' video for, oh, the 100th time...? :D

:brow: You should comprehend the following, boys...

1] I never gave myself that nickname. Thankfully neither did my parents. My coworkers gave me that nickname, and it's stuck. Fortunately, it matches my usually hyper personality [as in, given enough chocolate and Coca-Cola, I probably could take over the world], as well as my surprisingly nice nature despite my mostly gothic appearance.

2] Nope, not a hippy. Sorry. And I wouldn't want to be one, either. So get over it. It'll spare me the headache in the end.

3] Oh and, sorry to confuse the male side of the species. But then again, I never said I wasn't gonna be very comprehendable, right?

*sigh* Men. Clue-less. [Just like I love 'em.]

ETA [edited to add]: Oh and Jonathan, doll, watch where the hell you aim that damn thing. Just be glad I don't have one of these that my fave drummer has...

...yeah, this thing right here. :tank: Lock and load. :D

Geez, where the Helen of Troy's a hug emotie when you need one? Not that I would use it constantly, but in this case, maybe.

But anyways... :D

Doc's right. I am a pleasant sort. I was just taught to stand up for myself when the occassion suites me best, and this would be one of them.

[Oh and, this would have to be the one NOOL thread I seem to be most involved in. I like this.]

Oh dear.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear,

When I used to be young, I loved the Bay City Rollers; had pictures of Les Mckeon (?) on my wall.....but then you KNOW you aren't going to meet him, sleep with him, have his babies.......

That's why barneysangels.com is alarming.

And everything you have just posted is alarming.

It's just obsessional shit. I wonder if you like New Order at all - for their 'music'; or are you looking at each member - specifically Barney..as some kind of fantasy?

it is Steve and for some reason she has an unhealthy obsession with military vehicles.

ok...

I just had a look at your myspace site HERE and I'm a bit confused. Why are all your friends called 'Starknight (insert name)? You sure it isnt some bizarre hippy myspace commune? Are you David Koresh?

Another thing looking at your occupation. Do Maccy D's do sour cream and chive dips over there, cos we got em on 'limited edition' here, and they are the dogs bollocks.

Alright Burt, you've got me pullin' out the arsenal to respond to your  form of common sense.

*ahem*

Your words, nothing more than mere stones that you fling at me with a sling made of close-mindedness and strings of anything short of being polite--

your words can't do any harm to this little missy. You cry, you scream, you bitch and moan, and what little does that do to me other than the little good it does to you by boosting your supposed ego?

Just because I bear the wings of an Angel of Barney, and just because I gush about my supposed 'childhood crush', that is no way to judge a New Order fan. Between 'No Love Lost' and 'Love Vigilantes', 'Transmission' and 'Crystal', 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' and 'Waiting For The Sirens' Call', the there-and-then and the here-and-now, there stands the soundtrack to my life, the music that my common existence, however strange or normal it may be, lives, breathes, thrives and dies to. Words that could cause me to laugh until there's no tomorrow, melodies that could cause me to cry until my energy's all spent. Unlike every other band I hear, there's something about this Mancurian band that, somehow, I can't find in other bands.

I'd say more but, perhaps I've said enough-- maybe more than I had humbly intended.

So, I'm going to close this whimsical little poem with the two best lines to quote when someone decides to be a bit of a punk in the face of one...

'You've caught me at a bad time, So why don't you piss off?'

:thumb: Burt, you inspired me to write a poem! How thoughtful.

ETA: Correction. KATH. :banghead: God I can be so offside this late in the day. Sheesh...

No more supersizes, due to the film.

Good Lord almighty, have you any decency to stop questioning someone half to death?? :nonono:

The whole story behind the 'StarKnight' thing [and I can't believe I'm actually explaining this, so be extra-thankful that I'm patient enough to do this!!] started back in high school, when a friend of mine nicknamed me 'StarKnight' for two reasons--

1] when I was younger I always enjoyed looking at the stars, and I still do, except on cloudly nights of course [the 'star' part of it] and 2] I had [and still have] a tendency of being very loyal to my friends, like a knight [hence the 'knight' part of it].

After a while some of my friends decided to start calling themselves 'StarKnights' and bring up codenames and nicknames and stuff. Mine, at least back in high school, was Setsuna [after, oddly, my favorite Sailor Moon character].

Then I graduated, and moved away. Oh, and finally got a MySpace years later [or almost two years ago, to be exact].

One of my friends then suggested I bring back the old 'StarKnight' term, nowadays used for the few small strong handful of people who are very good friends of mine and/or have been a huge influence on my life. Like my favorite band.

And, David Koresh scares the sh*t out of me. Thank God I don't know him. :brow: Then again, he's dead anyway, I think.

Oh and, at least at MY McD's, in my end of the world, we don't have the sour cream and chive dips. Honestly, I thought you only find those in a Wendy's, or at least in a sour cream and chives baked potato there.

ETA: *sigh* Geez...

Nope, it was actually mostly due to the film. I kinda thought that dude was a bit off the deep end anyhow for that. That and, because of the film, it was Corporate's decision to 'phase out' the Supersize option.

Unfortunately, to this day I still get customers requesting 'Can you Supersize that for me please?' :nonono: My God, what did I do to deserve that?

And Burt, NO I DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE ANSWER TO THAT ONE!!! :nono:
