Those days... By the end of these sessions, you will realise that it was not such a big deal.

And what you wrote sometimes on the French forum was not bad at all... You can trust me, I used to teach French to loads of foreign students.

Well imagine all these teachers, to give you courage, who will have to mark all these tests. It will not be a happy time for them too. They will be stuck at home while you will be free to do whatever you want.

At this very moment, miss Jiphy is marking a nice bunch of exams and the only thing I am allowed to do is... remain silent.

Allez, bonne chance Jack ! Je suis sûr qu'en français, tu auras des super notes.

Sorry, "hate" in all its forms has been outlawed here on NOOL by executive decree. You must now enjoy your exams as much as I enjoy writing and grading papers.

Looking back, i actually quite liked exams. I remember absolutely murdering my A Level Law (and it was the last year of proper A Levels as well) and being really stressed during the exam. WHen i got my A Level results and found out that I had one of the top grades in the country it really was cause for lots of beer, even though I wasnt actually old enough to purchase alcohol.

See, exams might be stressful, although i did buzz of them when it was going well- I remember thinking at uni during an exam on International Relations, which was basically a rant, "I'm actually quite enjoying this"- but you;ve got to think of the consequences. Good grades, and lots of beer.

Three languages? Blimey, good luck... nice if you're good at them! (I wasn't)

The only two subjects I enjoyed at school were Art and History but I couldn't really draw and they never covered the area of history I was interested in.

The only decent skills I came away from high school with was how to order a lager in German and touch type

unit 2 is where i have to answer two essay questions about henry VIII and wolsey (1509-1529)

then unit 3 is two more essay questions about the english reformation and religious change (1529-1547)

It's not until I see and hear about such tests that I remember how thankful I am to have finished school. Gah, people keep asking about when I'm going back for the PhD. I'd rather stab my eyes out.

Good luck!

mayhaps I should qualify the statement by saying that it's a temporary measure only, to get the country back on it's feet. The UK used to lead the world you know, now we're a nation of customer service reps who elected a bunch of facist media studies students as a government. Once the balance is redressed, I'll allow you and your sort to teach again (but I'll allow YOU to shoot the former media studies students).

Besides, I'm all for art and music, I just don't think REAL artists need teaching, and certainly not by those who failed so badly they ended up teaching it. (not a dig, I'm quite sure your current doss was totally intentional  )

Rimmer: "How'd YOU get in to art college?" Lister: "Same way everyone else does, failed all my exams and applied".

That was my specialist period at uni in the first year, then I concentrated on the English Civil War after that.

Meh, I remember high school finals [graduated 5 years ago next month], and they were awful vicious. Count in a handful of school changes in those four years, the start of a depression that nearly destroyed me about 2 years or so ago, and my dad trying to make me 'normal' [which HE failed]... :nonono: I know how that is.

Best friend of mine just survived his very last final exam. The lucky bastard graduates from Stetson University on Saturday. I'll be there.

In the meantime, MOW 'EM DOWN AND GIT 'EM DONE, JACK! :thumb: Bonne chance et merde a 13!! [my french teacher always told us this before we started ANY exam we had in her class!]

I, American as I am, will be honest in saying that until now, I had never heard of the term. Now I know. Nice!

And yeah, they're really cool. I remember when I first heard 'Ana's Song'. Heard from one friend that a close friend I went to school with died when his house burned down. :nonono: I sobbed my heart out. The song just... I don't know... it just fit. I have, however, come to love it. [It's the only Silverchair song I can put on repeat and never get tired of... as well as 'Emotion Sickness' and that one song I forgot the name of... something about 'Drink up, drink up, look DOWN!']

*comes out of lurking* I hated my Alevel exams! I only did 2 (cause of my piss poor GCSE grades!), English Language and Drama & Theatre Studies (I got a 'C' and an 'E' respectively)

Am now in my 2nd year of a FdA Journalism, and though I have no exams (yaaaay) I have a 2000 word essay to hand in on Friday *weeps* and a 3000 word essay for 25th May. I'm hating every minute of writing them and have an almost uncontrollable urge to write 'This is all bollocks' over and over again....then bash my head off the key board!

But this time next year I will be (hopefully) finishing my dissertation.....8000 words!! ARGH!

And maybe if you had made the effort Jack is making, you'd have ended up doing something better than flipping fuckin burgers!

Cos funny enough, my ma was on benefits/minimum wage for much of the time I was at school, and I came away with qualifications.......or was she secretly holding her riches out on me.

And as for money, best way to avoid worry is not to borrow 10's of 1000's on cards and mortgages.
