Your right Last Broadcast is great, but something about it just misses the mark for a great album all the way through....sorry

The video doesn't do the song justice. What's with the strange head shot, the cameraman was too lazy to lift it up at a different angle?

Nice song though.:thumb:

ummm...you didn't happen to notice that Substance is actually top of the list?

Main reason none of those artists are in there is because I haven't heard any of thier albums. Can't rate what I don't know.

But there are a few in there I simply don't care for, like Belle & Sebastian, elis costello, massive attack....just not my cup o' tea. -sorry-

Thanks for the list! :thumb: The Queen is dead was one I was on the fence over, but last minute decided not to put in there, other Smiths I was on the fence over was the world won't listen, and the debut album. A few of those I'll have to try. I'm starting to like "best of" recently, since my album collection has reached over 800, I can't be arsed with sub-level filler. Plus I've noticed that if I get a sub-par album, its starting to ruin the flavour for the other albums the bands have made....so I'm more hesitant to get an unknown band than I used to be. Plus, all top album lists don't include gems like Substance, Story of the Clash, Legend, that are simple 'must haves' for cd collections.

I don't know about that, some of those where in my list: Pearl Jam - Ten Alice in Chaions - Jar of Flies NIN - Downward Spiral

Candlebox has three great songs on it, but the rest is subpar SP - MCIS - I don't think aged very well RHCP - bloodsugarsexmagik was so much better, and only shows how californication is revival of that album (but with more pop influence)

Not a bad list Edel, but two Cake albums? I know, personal tastes, etc. but they're a very poor man's Camper Van Beethoven at best, what with all of the 'wacky' and 'ironic' lyrics plus deadpan vocal delivery.

Actually I don't know why I put in Fashion Nugget....guess it was the vodka talking to me that night???

But Motorcade will always be a favorite (even though the production volume is set on super low)...

Thank God it's not just me... Have you heard the follow up they did a few years later, Laughing Stock? It's like a companion piece but using much more of a structured technique and more acoustic instruments... Similar format of long songs, obscure lyrics, drawn out melodies and arrangements. :D
