My daughters boyfriend was brought up by his Dad; consequently he comes here at every possible opportunity for dinner. However, on the erm...odd occasion....I am not here......they cook themselves fish finger sandwiches (I have never ever bought fishfingers) and with vinegar, sauce............

I actually think the term 'fish' is the vague bit... but they are definitely fingers... erm... well... bring orange ones.... I would love a loaf of the orange bread they make those crumbs out of... must glow in the dark..

Combine ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, celery, onions and spices to taste. Place mixture in a bread pan. Spread ketchup accross top of mixture and then bake. Serve with mashed potatoes and veggie of your choice. Mmmm Mmmmm.

we don't seem to make chips in a pan anymore. a bit sad in a way. a lost art really. we rely on chippys which is another taste altogether. yeah quite sad really:(
Had a chicken & mushroom Pot Noodle last night, probably first one in well over 5 years. What the fuck happened to them? It was horrible!

Monster munch crisps were a fav from the school tuck shop (pickled onion flavour). Fried egg sarnies made in stottie cake with loads of butter. Boiled eggs with soldiers. Chip butties. Crisp sarnies. Tomato soup with bread to dip in.
When I was little and used to stop at me nanna's house, she had an open fire and we would cook our toast over it. I think she got us to do it that way cos it took ages to cook and kept us occupied. Tasted nice though.
Also, all of the kids around ours used to have baked potatoes, cooked in tin foil by the fire, every bonfire night. Sounds minging now but the skins would go really tough and they were lovely
I was a right fussy eater though.
Fish fingers and home made chips with bread and butter and a mug of milk.
Mince and carrots with mashed potato.
Braising steak stew with carrots, mashed potato and pastry.
Cod and chips with bread and butter and mushy peas.
Irish stew with mashed potatoes and kale. Plus bread and butter.
Sausages and home made chips with bread and butter.
Gammon with mushy peas and home made chips
Occasional beef or lamb roast with potatoes, sprouts, peas and gravy.
A special treat for dessert was bananas chopped up in custurd with hundreds & thousands on top/angel delight or jelly and tinned pears or peaches.
Feeling foody nostalgic now...
