It's gotta be those of us who did those Kraftwerk gigs in London four years ago, hasn't it? An 8pm gig and then a midnight gig. They did summat similar in Paris in 2001 and repeated the idea in a few places throughout 2004.

Plenty of bands I've seen 24hrs apart - recent ones I can think of are Pixies, Interpol, Chemical Bros, New Order (natch).

Any other bands who've played multiple shows in one night though? Or even done more than one venue in the same night? I remember Basement Jaxx doing 4 gigs in London at 4 different venues over 4 consecutive nights -- not quite the same though.

Last year I saw Kloot go offstage at 430pm in Night and Day, and were onstage in Blueprint Studios less than an hour later.

Indeed, I seem to remember being with Alex and John in Mancland before and them going to see one band at X o'clock ... and then the same band elsewhere at Y o'clock. Can't remember who, mind.

Have seen a fair few DJs at multiple venues (well, two) in one night though.

yeah, kraftwerk is the shortest for me too.

what about the number of different gigs in one day (not talking about festivals)

smallest band i've seen on consecutive nights is probably forward russia in bristol & then cardiff. got my request played on the second night though :-)

Re: Order? Digital? frequently did two sets same night

New Order at the Hac in Dec 85 was two sets in one night. Bunnymen 84 tour was often two sets in one night, as was their 85 tour.

House of Love in 91 did 3 separate gigs in 3 separate venues in London on the one night, T&C, Boston Arms and one I've forgotten.

back to back in 89...Houston one night, Dallas the next...

and then the Wembley on Friday, Wolves on Sunday thing with several of you guys in 06...not that I remember much of Wolves...was it good???

Kraftwerk natch.

New Order was 3 days I think, there was a gig before they were inducted into the Hall Of Fame, but cannae mind if it was Manchester or London......or whether it was before or after.

Ma memory is minced.

Thinking back (hazily) I'm sure it was two days, cannae mind which two gigs on the 2006 tour. But I think I'm right.

Didn't quite do both Kraftwerk gigs in one night at Brixton 2004.Only did the later one.But did see them 2 nights on the trot on their 1991 tour.Birmingham Hummingbird on the Monday night then raced up the motorway the following night to catch em at Sheffield City Hall.Don't think i've ever done that even with New Order.

Actually Kraftwerk are the longest gap and the shortest gap for me.

  1. Wedding Present - supporting themselves as The Ukrainians 1/2 hour interlude.

  2. New Order consecutive nights a few times.

  3. Completely unplanned, Nine Inch Nails 1992. So impressed with them at Newcastle Riverside that I drove to Manchester to see them at International 2 the following night on the spur.

8 Order gigs in 11 days in 84, two months after 3 in 3.

Yeah, I only did the later Brixton gig, although I did catch them at the Royal Albert (?) Hall the day before (or was it a couple of days? My memory's gash nowadays)!

Don't think I've ever seen the same band twice on one day - the closest being Monaco and New Order at Reading 98, or a live band followed by a DJ set soon afterwards (plenty of those)...

Oh, forgot, did the 3 New Order Brixton gigs in 3 consecutive days back in October 2001...

Morrissey, Inspiral Carpets, Ian Brown, The Verve, Arcade Fire, Interpol, Blonde Redhead, Doves, Kloot, Oasis, Pet Shop Boys, Kaiser Chiefs, Editors, Sons and Daughters and... erm... Coldplay.

Chaos UK five nights in a row.

I was touring with them, so maybe that doesn't count.

yep did Hac 3/12/85 both sets - anyone take a punt at the 2 songs in both sets?

...but 14/6/85 probably beats that for me - New Order Shffield City Hall ( earlyish I seem to remember ) then bomb across snake pass in a capri to the Boardwalk for The Beloved, then back to Sheffield for the closing set from Cabaret Voltaire. Pretty sure ACR were in there somewhere - can't remember whether before or after (?) - anyone else remember that trip?!

As It Is When It Was and Face Up were in both sets.
