Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed were unlawfully killed by the reckless driving of their chauffeur, Henri Paul, and the paparazzi who chased them, jurors at the inquest into their deaths decided today.

The majority verdict brings to a close the six-month inquest, which has heard from more than 240 witnesses and is expected to have cost the taxpayer over £10m.

Well fuck me. Who'd a thunk it? Gross negligence of the paps and the pissed-up chauffer.

No mention of who held a gun to the daft bint's head and made her reject British Police protection in favour of some tin pot hotel minders. Oh and took her seat belt off when she wasn't looking.

Yup, but they would have probably survived if they'd worn seatbelts...

...and if it hadn't been going at twice the speed limit with a pissed driver.

Someone should be in court for allowing this ridiculous waste of money. That al Fayed is a moron. If he honestly believes the crap he comes out with, he needs help. His half-wit son spends six weeks shagging someone and he's attempting to dine out on it forever? What a dickhead.

Again, I'm probably in the raving lunatic minority, but I don't think all is as innocent as it seems... Cameras turned the wrong way, Henri on a secret services pay roll + questions about his blood sampling, Burrell not being recalled when admitting that he lied, the absence of Prince Phillip during the inquest, taking 45 minutes to get to hospital... All very weird...

The inquest was a case of foregone-conclusions-r-us to me.

There should certainly be perjury charges against Burrell. al Fayed should be charged with something too. Treason or something.

I'm just not buying the Diana Conspiracy theories. They're simply too daft to think about. Each one of the questions raised has a clear and bloody obvious answer. There's simply no motive for M16 to kill Diana, anyway. What did it achieve? Paranoid ravings of al Fayed, with a willing tabloid press fanning the flames.

This hearing was a foregone conclusion because it's so obvious what caused these deaths.

Alf is quite a fruity old fellow.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle between the inquest and Alf's views; the inquest is a whitewash, whereas Alf's views are a technicolor dreamcoat.

How can the truth be halfway to those fairy stories?

M16 were a bit involved?

Phil the Greek is a bit of a Nazi?

Duchess of Cornwall is half crocodile?

It's all bollocks, mate.

It would be nice to see some good come from it and intrusive press photography banned or at least toned down. But it wont.

What I mean is that some of what Alf says could be true, some of it isn't. Some of what the inquest has concluded will be true, some of it will be spin doctored and distorted.

all these conspiracy theories are just plain weird. if the driver of her car was piss drunk, chances are he lost control of teh car cos of lack of judgement from being DRUNK and being chased by peeps. simple as taht. drunks hit shit all the time and die. what else is new? aye?

Baeutifully put.

If only we'd asked you instead of paying all them millions to the lawyers.

Lemme see if I have this right.

It was an al-Fajed hotel; an al-Fajed bodyguard; an al-Fajed car; an al-Fajed driver.

It must therefore be someone else's fault, a conspiracy even.

Everything Fayed has come out with is clearly bollocks. He is and always has been a shameless self-publicist; the fugger. How can we take the word of a man who once bribed politicians to ask certain questions and sway the course of a debate in the House of Commons purely out of self interest? He's not exactly a glowing symbol of credibility and honour himself.

There is not a shred of evidence to back up anything he's said so disproving it was never going to be a tough task; it's just a shame they had to waste so much taxpayer money in the process. I believe he's pursued this course of action out of a combination of guilt, fruit-loopiness and his own raging vanity.

At the end of the day, he employed the pisshead chauffer that drove both his son and Di into a pillar and so the ultimate responsibility lies with him. Surely rule number one of employing a chauffer is to ensure that they're not a chronic alcoholic? (Well rule two, after checking they can drive). The pursuing photographers were obviously a massive catalyst.

It was the fuggin Duke... pur-lease

Who drew DIANA on his head in crayon?

Or did he do it himself in the mirror?

Does he even know it's there?

How embarrassing.

No no no, just saying if people think Fayed is a bit much banging on about it after all this time, then what about this fella?!

But, now that you've mentioned it!

I demand an inquiry as to why so much money was wasted on this inquiry.

I remember going to a GLC not-the-royal wedding event to avoid hearing anything about the Charles and Di wedding, and then spent the next, what, 20? years trying to avoid hearing anything about this harmless-but-not-especially-interesting woman. Then she dies and I think 'sad, but at least that's the end of that'. How wrong I was, she's been in the papers more since she died than when she was alive.

(Surely you've all heard the joke about Vista being 'Windows Diana'? Pretty to look at but consumes huge amounts of resources, is lumbered with faulty drivers and crashes horribly?).

I liked the Sun headline 'Did Dodi Do Di'.

Ah, but what about the reports of an elderly woman wearing a headscarf and riding a moped, chasing Di's car through the underpass. With a tall gentleman of Mediterranean appearance riding pillion?

Bystanders report hearing her shout 'quick Phil, she's getting away'.

Oh, no wait, I just made those up.

I don't think the Juke did it, but did the inquest answer:

Why were the cameras turned the wrong way or off?

Why was Henri on a secret services pay roll?

Were Henri's blood samples handled correctly?

Why Burrell was not recalled when admitting that he lied?

Why Prince Phillip wasn't called?

Why it took 40-odd minutes to get Diana to hospital?

Why was the white car not found, or why they didn't make an immediate intensive effort to find it?

If they didn't answer all these questions the conspiracies will never end.

The first rule of Fight Club is.

You do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is. You DO NOT talk about Fight Club.

Those two points of the time it took to get proper Medics involved and the second Car's whereabouts are curious.

Tragic that Lives are getting ruined and, here, taken by paparazzi. Complete bloodsport that's cyclical.

He only went out with her for six weeks.

So he was either a first-night rimmer or, my theory is, they probably didn't get down to it. Advanced sexual practices are normally either first night jobs or take ages to build in to the repertoir.

She had plenty of other people to lick her arse though, so it's not like she went without.
