I'm not wasting it/.
I've lifted the flooring from the kitchen and put it on a normal wash.
Shit shit shit.

That was the first thought I had. But I didn't dare to recommend it to you ;).
I got a broke-down dishwasher, put cleaner in the rinse aid, I got a broke-down dishwasher, put cleaner in the rinse aid, When you gotta hand wash your dishes, you know just how a poor man feels.
Lordy, Lord, Lordy, Lord, Lordy, Lord, Lordy, Lord, Lordy, Lord.

Pretty good. You should call it "Biggy's Dishwasher Blues".

A Disherwasher's Ode to Biggy
How does it feel To treat me like you do When you've taken your floor cleaner And filled me to the brim
I thought I was your lover I thought I heard your words Tell me how do I feel Tell me now, how do I feel
Dishes with dried macaroni Put through normal rinse cycles With hot sprayed Celsius water Soap residue cleaned no more
And I still find it so hard To clean what I need to clean But Im quite sure that youll tell me All the utensils I've eaten today
I see dishes on the counter I can't and you'll pay But if it wasnt for your misfortune Id be a heavenly washer today
And I thought I was mistaken And I thought I heard you speak Tell me how do I feel Tell me now how should I feel
Now I sit here foaming
I thought I told you to leave me While I sat here under the counter Tell me how does it feel When your insides fill with foam (fill with foam, fill with foam, fill with foam)
That would be Jenny ;)
I've been reading a bit about this on t'net and I have concluded that the only thing for it is to dismantle the dishwasher and wash all the floor cleaner out of it. Otherwise my dishes could be tainted for months.
So Biggy's NEW problem is should I order a new dishwasher now or wait until I've actually broken this one?
It's a real dilemma ![]()

cant you just switch the dishwasher on with nothing in a few times?
Not according to the internet, it would take forever and never really get clear.
Thinking about how often you have to fill the rinse aid, that makes sense.
Fuck.
Fuck fuck fuck.
Pop the cap off with a screwdriver... if you break it, you could always purchase a new lid from the dishwasher company, probably for a few pounds.![]()

I could...but I ain't gonna...
I've got my own to do...
now if he'll pay me 5 million pounds sterling...I might consider...
of course, if he's got that kind of cash laying around, I'm sure there is at least one nice Eastern European that would do it for far less...

Try flooding the rinse aid dispenser with vinegar.. it breaks down most things & as an added bonus.. your house will smell like a chip shop for a while..
Chances are that it will have those stupid screws that don't work with any screwdriver you own, so dismantling it is probably not an option.
Get a couple of quotes from electrical appliance repair places, and decide if it's worth fixing or just getting a new on.
If you can dismantle it, have a note pad and write down what order the bits come apart in, take a few pics as you go. makes putting it back together so much easier.

Thank you my patronising friend, I hadn't thought of going to buy them from a diy store.![]()
Maybe it's different in the U.S. but over here so that people have to be forced to go to the manufacturers repair shops, each different company uses a different type of screw head on it's products, sometimes there are two different types of their own manufactured screw head on one appliance,
and although some tool manufacturers now supply screwdrivers for the more commonly used ones, not all are readily available and of course the appliance manufactures keep on creating new ones to keep their repair shops in business.
There is some of that here, probably not near as much as over there.
But I'll be damned to be forced to call in a mechanic... there is always a way around the screws... if there is enough meat on the head of the screw you could always use a Dremel to cut a slot in it to use a regular screw driver... if that doesn't work, a drill can take off the head of the screw and you can take the rest of the screw out with vise-grips...
The screws on my dishwasher are normal stardrive type.
Most, but not all, of the 'special' screw heads are merely stardrive.
I have a stardrive set and would be happy to lend them to anyone who is in need.
I've checked and they fit comfortably into the heads of the screws on my Hotpoint.
The level of dismantling that would be required to access the back of my soap tray is far too much to take on. I feel sure the door would need to come off and I’m worried that I would disturb seals that would subsequently leak and ruin my kitchen.
Flushing the bastard out with loads of water seems to have done the trick anyway.
Happy Birthday Henry Kissinger.
