Why doesn't it surprise me you are not concerned that your army has crossed a border and attacked and killed some civilians? Of course nothing will come of it because Syria is too weak and the US is the playground bully.

Think an illegal act like this should concern us all.

America, FUCK YEAH! And if Syria don't like it they can fuck themselves cause we don't care, that is what he means...

Americans don't care if you care! And we don't care if you do not care for our don't care attitude! Americans are gonna kill ALL the terrorists until they are all dead, so they can't breed like roaches anymore... be it Syria, Iran, N. Korea, China, Lebanon, Malawi, Finland, Papua-New Guinea, Guatemala, Chicago... :dead:

Doesnt surprise me. Its Bush trying to make sure Mccain wins, and would rather not go down the Supreme Court route again...

Its just a little nudge to everyone saying "hey, we're still at war here, and you dont change things during a war"

And knowing how fucking moronic Americans are, it probably will help Mccain win the election.

Its not like Syria is an innocent country here. Most of the Mujahideen were either Syrian or entered Iraq through Syria. Syria has done jack-shit in trying to do anything about it and has been finacially backing them.

It is a shame that civilians were killed, but at the same time there can many times be a fine line between civilian and combatant.

Not sure if I trust Syrian footage... media propaganda has worked in the past... just look at Haditha. Interesting how we trust video footage of a questionably enemy state, rather than our own military.

This is the same fine line that it usually takes US military personnel a bullet or ten to clarify, right??

Not answering the question as usual I see.

And for the record, I'm going into teaching because I can make a decent wedge out it.* And considering i'll be paying tax and all that bollocks, i'd also say it makes me a meber of the "workforce". Just like I was when i worked in finance.

If you were really interested in the answer to your question I would give it*, but yer only point is to try real hard to fuel yer own idiotic stereotype.

So sitting back at school and being a student makes you a military expert, eh?...

*I see irony can also be lost on the briteesh as well.

I dont actually recall him answering those questions.

But I daresay he joined the army for the reasons most people do. Because they think its going to be fucking cool to go and shoot some people. "Tommy Taliban" as someone I know put on their Facebook.

Dont like it when they fire back though do you? Thats not what you signed up for is it?

Reminds me of that segment in the last episode of Blackadder.

The scene: A chicken by a road. The chicken crosses it. The question: Why did he cross the road?

Answers by:

RENE DESCARTES: To go on the other side of the road.

PLATO: For its own good. On the other side is the truth.

ARISTOTE: It is chicken’s nature to cross roads.

KARL MARX: It was historically predictable.

CAPTAIN JAMES T. KIRK: To go where no other chicken went before.

MARTIN LUTHER KING: I had a dream in which all the chickens could cross roads without having to justify themselves.

MOISE: God came down from heaven and He said to the chicken: “Thou should cross the road”. The chicken crossed the road and God was happy as it was good.

RICHARD M. NIXON: The chicken didn’t cross the road. I repeat, the chicken never crossed the road.

MACHIAVEL: The important event is that the chicken crossed the road. Who the hell cares why? The fact to cross the road justifies everything whatever the cause is.

SIGMUND FREUD: The fact that you are preoccupied by the fact that the chicken crossed the road reveals a strong feeling of sexual fears within you.

ERIC CANTONA: Le poulet ? Le poulet, il est libre. Les routes ? Quand il veut il les traverse.

JACQUES CHIRAC: As long as we haven’t found an egg, nothing will be done against the chicken.

BILL CLINTON: I swear on the constitution that nothing happened between the chicken and me.

NICOLAS SARKOZY: The chicken hasn’t crossed the road yet but I work hard on it.

FOREST GUMP: Run chicken, run!

STALIN: The chicken should be shot at once as well as all the witnesses plus 10 people taken randomly for having done nothing against this subversive behaviour.

GEORGES W. BUSH: The fact that a chicken could cross this road in all impunity despite UN resolutions is an affront to democracy, justice and liberty. This proves that we should have bombed this road a long ago. With the purpose of assuring peace in this area and to avoid that the values we defend should be flouted again by this kind of terrorism, the government of the United Stated of America has decided to deploy 17 aircraft carriers, 46 destroyers and 154 cruisers in conjunction with 232,000 infantry men and 846 bomber planes. Their mission will be, in the name of freedom and democracy, to eradicate all lives in hen houses in a range of 5,000 kilometres and to ensure, with the help of chirurgical skilled missiles, that all buildings which more or less look like a hen house will be reduced to ashes so that they can no more defy our mighty country by their arrogant stance. We have also agreed that this country would later be taken generously in charge by our government, which will build them new hen houses by American standards, with a new cock as president, who would have been previously and democratically elected by the ambassador of the United States of America. In order to have enough funds to rebuild the country, the United States of America will content themselves by holding the total control of local corn for a thirty years term. Of course, the locals will have a special discount price on it in exchange of their total collaboration. In this new country of justice, peace and freedom, we can ensure you that no more chicken will be able to cross a road for the simple reason that there will be no more roads and that chicken won’t have paws anymore. God bless America!

Oh, of course. When people join the army they do it just to hold the guns and not actually use them.

What complete bollocks.

The basic part of being a soldier is that at some point you are going to have to shoot someone. If you disagree, then you're an idiot. I cant actually see any other reason why people would sign up.

As for the teacher comparisons. Well, thats the stupidest thing ever posted on the board. So I guess thats some kind of achievement.

Cambo, yer taking my words out of context. The original post was talking about crossing a border and attacking Syria... to which I don't care if we do.

Another post later posed about the death of civilians (especially children)... to which I stated it could be similar to Haditha, planned videotaping to use our media to win a battle.

I never stated "bomb the crap outta civilians for areas aiding mujahdeen".....

No, that was a loan made in 1948, and 2% a YEAR, so you got double your money back.

I always thought Great-Britain was the American tête de pont in Europe because of this debt. If it is paid, does it mean that the UK will commit a bit more in the EU?

All jokes aside, it does seem a bit whiny when other countries complain about US military. Think of it this way, all the other 1st world countries aren't spending buttloads of cash to build up a military because they don't have arms races with each other anymore. If they do need protection, they know the US has thier back... so they've been letting the US spend money on military while they can spend money on other infastructure issues.

Back to the subject, History shows that the one who has the mightiest army is also the first willing to go to war...

If you ask the rest of the world, I do not think it will confirm that bombing in Syria was a good idea.

That idea is misleading though Jiphy. The US is the first Police state... very little intentions on staying in an area, and usually involves itself in what it believes is for the "greater good" of the world. Granted not all involvements have been that way, but in a generalized sense this is the case. At least it is very different from past empires that were only involved in war for personal gain and interests.

Do we overstep our bounds, maybe... but at the same time, most 1st world countries enjoy an ability to not concern themselves with outside threats, as the US has effectively taken the responsibility of "policing" the world.

Yes most counties wouldn't support a bombing in Syria, they also are doing jack-all in the enforcement of modern day standards.

Oh do fuck off. This is only correct when you take into account that the arseholes on the other side of the pond think that whatever is good for the US is good for the world.

You do fuck all when you have little to gain. Can't remember you sorting out Rwanda or Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka was a mess and you did nowt, East Timor - where? Conversely you piled in when there was no danger but did it to serve your own self - interest. Panama? Grenada ?

EdelBrock wrote:

If these standards are yours you can shove 'em. France was right, we were wrong, but you are guilty of repeatedly breaking international law and decency. As the srongest nation in the world you don't give a flying one because you don't have to. Thats what makes somany think your a set of self serving arseholes.
