I love Duran Duran and it has be said, they're one of the best live bands I've seen. I'll probably get slated for this but I'm a Duranie and proud of it

I've got a live recording of them doing Come Up and See Me (Make Me Smile) and it's honestly one of my favourite live tracks.
They're pop genius. Ordinary World was a great comeback album (Femme Fetale notwithstanding).
I approve of this band ![]()
me too jem
they actualy borrowed my drum machine for the track they did with justin trousersnake last year![]()

I do own their greatest hits. And if the opportunity arose I would go and see them. Not paying £50 mind.

Come Undone?
I hate Duran Duran...got a terrible sun burn at a show they did in Fort Worth a few years back...
I mean really...who the fuck gets a sun burn in March???
Planet Earth is one of my favorite songs...
i could probably scrape together a top three, but that'd be it. too blond and bouffy for me in their heyday, and a bit shit ever since.
sorry. please don't hurt me.

ANY band who let their keyboard player have THREE real, living Fairlight's live on stage are always gonna get The Doctor's vote. John+Roger are what bass and Drums SHOULD be.....a single entity, totally bottom kicking.
Has to be said though, that after 25+ years of trying, my rendition of Rio on me rumbleplank, still ranks as one of the greatest horros of human history.
Anyone seen the show they did with Mark Ronson? Rather impressive stuff.

I'm a Durannie!! There I've said it. Not mad on the Wedding Album, bar the 2 singles, but they've had some good tunes out. Saw them at GMEX back in 1992,and about 1994 at Manc Apollo.

no.
and having a goatee does not make you a bloke. it makes you a cunt. surely?
saw them when they supported hazel o'connor in manchester, a fair bit of hype had built up about them, and whilst they were better than the bulk of hazel o'connors gig not many would have guessed how big they'd turn out.
Saw them at the International two in Manchester, late eighties 88/89 I worked local crew on and off, gotta say they were fuckin loud and pretty feckin good, I think they were on a comeback trail. They seemed a very different band to the video/mtv age version

CURSES.
i was victim to my teenage hormones, doc. i also fancied johnny pagliaro in the fourth year, although i did not fully understand what these feelings meant.
several years later jp chatted me up and he was still utterly beautiful but also dull as shit. it was a revelatory moment.

'tall stems from my recent ascertion that females make nearly every decision regarding what to watch/listen to, based purely on the advice of their fannies. Miss B.Nora denied this fervently....even providing scientific research into the matter....instead claiming that women aren't letcherous gits and fancy men based on their potential ability as "the provider" (and, bollox though that is, it still doesn't refute the fact that they pick their media intake based on the males therein). Since I know she cannot possibly be mentally subnormal enough to adore shite shite shite for any intrinsical musicality, I regard her statement as a dead giveaway, much in the manner of King Arthur letting "bloody peasant" slip.
A petard is a sort of medieval "shaped charge" designed and constructed (by a munitions expert called a petardier) for the specific purpose of blowing in castle gates. They were a bit on the dodgy side and often went off a touch early, launching the petardier into low orbit......hence he was hoist by his own petard.

Do you REALL think crochet and needlepoint are his main hobbies?

For those who wish to engage in a mature conversation, yes I am a fan of Duran Duran, though I haven't made any effort to listen to their Red Carpet Massacre material.
Skin Trade is a great protest song. Like many bands, when Duran Duran get serious they produce some very good music. I believe that their first album is still their best.
