Calzaghe, beat Jones with a non-stop barrage of punches Joe Calzaghe took his unbeaten record to 46-0 with victory over Roy Jones Jr after 12 bloody rounds in New York.
Calzaghe picked himself off the canvas in the first round to claim a unanimous decision at Madison Square Garden.
The Welshman dominated for much of the fight, cutting Jones badly in the seventh round before winning 118-109.
Calzaghe, 36, had threatened that the Jones Jr would be his last but he refused to announce his retirement following his stunning victory.
It was Jones, 39, who drew first blood, across the bridge of Calzaghe's nose, in front of 20,000 fans as the Welshman was floored in the opening round.
Jones, much to the Welsh fighter's surprise, went on to take the opening two rounds before Calzaghe countered in the third through the sheer number of his punches.
The fourth and fifth rounds saw Jones retreat to neutral corners and hold a high guard, picking pinpoint shots against Calzaghe's flurries.
The turning point came in the seventh round as Jones, beginning to tire, was caught by a firm right hand from Calzaghe which opened up the eye of the former four-weight world champion.
Calzaghe refused to tire, spurred on by Jones' corner's ineffectual attempts to stem the bleeding, and took the fight with all three judges scoring it 118-109 to the Welshman.
Well done Joe! but a good job you din't take him on a few years ago. Now hang up yer gloves
